Although this series is just a little better than OK, the opening sequence is probably the funniest I've ever seen. The lead character is a bit unlikable for a lead. His co-workers are incompetent, his family is annoying, and his love life a disaster, mostly of his own doing. But I can enjoy it in moderation. For a better foreign language (if you speak English) police comedy, I recommend Fallet. I also really enjoy The Sniffer, more of a combination drama/comedy much like Monk.

Having worked a security detail in Jerusalem I had a great experience with the Israeli Police. This show which illustrates life in the Station and off-duty issues is hilarious. My Wife hates having to read the subtitles, but personally I think it helps you focus even more on the show. Danny, Rabbi, Dubi, Corrine and Danny's Folks are a great cast of characters. Especially like the relationship between Danny and the little boy Roncho.
Also, this show has the cutest intro on Netflix. I Never skip it. Great show, worth a try, especially if you are a Cop, no matter what your Country.

Why you may wanna see this comic series:
- An intro that makes you wanna dance; just watching it gives me a good mood
- The cast looks like regular people (not the hollywoodian Ken and Barby) - some honest and dedicated, some playing against the rules, some lazy
- The storyline is funny, based on the hierarchical relations and the day to day activity of an Israeli police station
- You may enjoy their day to day strugle in absourd, satirical and unexpected situations

I really liked this mainly because the characters were so well acted. I particularly liked the girl because no matter how many times the men put her down she always came back for more. Hope this is an ongoing series because I'm bonded with the characters even though I don't speak of word of ? It is funny and moves along quite well. A great weekend series to binge out.
Some of the jokes and slang only an Israeli would understand but this show can be enjoyed by all.
I read someone wrote "unattractive cast" and my answer is it's not about the look, it's about being funny and interesting. Seinfeld cast wasn't attractive yet its one of the most successful tv comedies.
This show is very charming. The characters really grow on you. Of course some episodes are better than others, but overall I find this show to be great.

As an ardent fan of British comedy (Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, The Green Wing, Black Adder, The Young Ones, etc etc etc, and Fauda, I thought to try an Israeli comedy.
What a discovery! The characters are wonderful and the writing is both funny and endearing. I'm so glad I discovered this.

Yes, I agree with another reviewer: the opening sequence is very funny and too have to watch it every time. Great characters and superb acting. Very short episodes but tightly written. Corrine is well played and an asset to the programme. Well done to all concerned.

This show was never made for a foreign audience, it was made for an Israeli one.
The opening sequence is hysterical.
It's funny, if you get the jokes. Many of them get lost in translate.
It's certainly NOT an "original series", as it ran for three seasons, and 45 episodes.
I loved it, it's a really a good representative of all types of Israelis.

The jokes are quite far apart, and the acting is quite rigid, but as a light comedic show Hashoter Hatov is a nice filler. Overall, even if I did not enjoyed it too much, I kept coming back to see the next episode, so there is something.
Why Netflix would want to claim this sorry excuse of a comedy as a 'Netflix Original Series' is beyond me. It is unfunny, with an unattractive cast. I could not get past the first episode. Actually, I admit I started to watch the second, just to see if it got better; it didn't.
The rating shows this as a five star program; the only thing I can figure is Netflix starts out a series with five stars and adjusts it as the viewing public rates it. Perhaps no one wanted to admit they endured this sad excuse of entertainment by rating it. I don't blame them. It is simply horrid.
