An unemployed shoe salesman determined to prove he's worthy of the girl he loves, witnesses a murder while on his way to ask his girlfriend's father if he can marry his daughter and have a job.
A Running Start is the story of an early 30's unemployed shoe salesman named Rick. He's just proposed to his girlfriend and being the old fashioned guy that he is he's going to ask her father for her hand in marriage. On top of that he's tried everything he can to find work since "the incident" at his last job but to no avail. So he's also going to ask his fiance's father for a job. On his way to talk to his fiancé's father he witnesses a murder and gets embroiled in a game of cat and mouse that may cause him to miss the most important meeting of his life and get him killed.—Tony Armer
