There are few talent-representative partnerships in Hollywood that have lasted a career. CSI creator Anthony Zuiker had that with manager Margaret Riley, most recently a partner at Lighthouse Entertainment, who died Tuesday of ovarian cancer at age 58.

In 1998, Zuiker was working as a tram driver in his native Las Vegas while trying unsuccessfully to make it as a screenwriter with a movie script he had written, The Runner. Producer Jim Garavente slipped it to Riley, who had recently been promoted from assistant to manager at management/production company Addis Wechsler, and she signed Zuiker on his 30th birthday, 8/17/1998.

Riley then took Zuiker to all Hollywood agencies. He ended up at CAA (where he still is a client) with Joe Cohen and Scott Greenberg. Riley also introduced him to Kevin Yorn, who repped him for free for an year until he got his footing.

Exclusive: Actor Nadji Jeter has signed with talent management company Cultivate Entertainment Partners for representation.

Jeter made his film debut in the 2006 feature Dirty Laundry, written and directed by Maurice Jamal. He went on to appear in films including Grown Ups 1 and 2, The Fifth Wave, Oscar-winning Wonder and most recently Miss Virginia and 2021’s The Runner.

On television, Jeter voiced Miles Morales in the Marvel/Disney Xd series Spider-Man. He previously voiced the Miles Morales character in the critically acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse PlayStation game where he was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Performer in a Leading Role. His additional television credits include guest-starring roles in Grey’s Anatomy, Everybody Hates Chris, Castle, Last Man Standing and Grown-ish, among others.

Exclusive: After directing a starry ensemble led by Abigail Breslin in the Miranda Rights drama Miranda’s Victim, filmmaker Michelle Danner has set the sci-fi action-thriller Helios as her next feature.

The film from Centerboro Production, based on a script by Patricia A. Beninati (Hubble: 20 Years of Discovery), Michael K. Anderson (The Wonder Show) and Bernard Moore, is set in the year 2030, following the crew of the spaceship Helios on an urgent mission to the International Space Station. When a massive solar flare from an incoming cataclysmic solar storm hits the station on a collision course with Earth, it is up to astronomer and former NASA Astronaut, Jess Denver, and Air Force Colonel Sam Adler to team up and save humanity.

Exclusive: Former Haven star Eric Balfour has been tapped to play production designer Dean Tavoularis opposite Miles Teller and Matthew Goode in The Offer, Paramount+’s upcoming limited series about the making of The Godfather.

The Offer is based on two-time Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy’s (Teller) experience of making the iconic 1972 film The Godfather that Francis Ford Coppola directed and adapted with Mario Puzo from Puzo’s bestselling novel. The movie starred Marlon Brando, Pacino, James Caan, John Cazale, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton and Talia Shire; it was nominated for 11 Oscars and won three — including Best Picture for Ruddy.
