Abdullah Saeed, Wilbert L. Cooper and Martina de Alba have a seven episode road trip across the USA (sans Alaska and Hawaii) in the lead-up to the election. The gang tap into the underbelly of life, and you see the seeds of Trumpism (e.g. birther movement) in some of the episodes that led to the election of Trump in 2016.
I wish VICE did a follow-up for 2020.

I have seen 2 episodes and it is some of the most interesting and moving view into our society I have ever seen. The 3 individuals are intelligent good interviewers with strong ethics. They covered immigration as an issue and worked a bit at a forensic center at Baylor U trying to bring identification to the lost immigrants' remains. The most absolutely moving 'view' on the issue I have ever seen. Another episode involves a Civil War reenactment that is kind of funny though one 'reb' tries to start some racist crap but the others reach out to show their decency. In all a very down to earth, funny and heart moving view through these threes' eyes on our society that we only sort of know. It shows how we can be different yet come together in understanding. Very highly recommended.
