Tadka is a romance film directed by prakash raj which is an official hindi remake of the malayalam film "salt n pepper".
Nana patekar is in a fine form. At age 65, he is pushing romantic lines and describing beauty about a purer love and it does not cone as gimmicky. His expressions and especially dialogue delivery is on point. Truely a stalwart of indian cinema. Shriya saran too shines with her acting. At many places, her dubbing was not good. Ali fazal and especially taapsee pannu are wasted here. Taapsee, in her initial years was really an amateur actor. Other characters don't have much space to be fleshed out.
The music is decent. The background score is strictly average. It does not help that the bgm continuously keeps playing at all times. The cinematography is pretty good. The song between ali and taapsee is really oddly placed.
The film beautifully incorporates the beauty of food and delicacy but somehow it throws away that advantage and becomes a typical romantic film. Also the dubbing of taapsee was disheartening and tone-deaf.
As much as i like it, i hope it coukd hv been much more better. I rate it 7 out of 10.

Heart Warming Moments and Funny Scenes,
Movie is a Remake of Malayalam Movie - Salt and Pepper which was a nice movie.
Direction is good enough to make you engaged but Some Characters like Tapsee Pannu and Ali Fazal are just fill in the blanks.
Ya there was parallel story of them and related to the characters but that part is slow.
I was about to forward a film for minutes and continue watching than Nana Patekar come on screen.
Watching him after a long time on screen was lovely.
Loved his way of dialogue delivery and character as always.
Worth watch (Time pass)

For all those who want to watch a love story(on the lines of lunch box) then this movie is for You. I wish Taapse and Ali fazal had dubbed for this movie. Taapsee's presence with tadka of dubbed voice is the most irritating part of this movie. Nana Patekar is in Good form and the supporting cast(except Taapsee) did a fantabulous job. I even loved the background music of this movie. Very effective. This role was tailor made for Irfan Khan but sadly he is no more with us. But Nana Patekar did do justice after all he is versatile too. If ME2 thing was not going on with Nana. I think more people would have watched and appreciated.

The storyline appeared to have promise as a story of two people destined to be together because of their love (obsession for one of them) with food but a number of misunderstandings get between them.
I'm a big fan of Nana Patekar and Taapsee Pannu which is why I watched this movie. Unfortunately, Nana did not occupy the Tukaram character as much as the character became Nana with all his mannerisms. Shriya Saran turned in a good performace. Taapsee had a smaller role than Shriya Saran and played almost a caricature; far from her role in Thappad. And Ali Fazal was barely used.
Impressed with Iravati Harshe who I don't remember seeing on screen before.
And the background music when people were talking was very loud, jarring and intrusive when it should have been subtle.

"Tadka" (2022) serves up a heartwarming tale of love and second chances, seasoned with a generous helping of culinary delights. While the film's plot may not offer anything particularly new, its charming performances, particularly from Shriya Saran, and its celebration of food and human connection make for an enjoyable, if somewhat predictable, watch.
Shriya Saran shines as Madhura, a spirited and independent woman who finds herself unexpectedly drawn to Tukaram, a middle-aged archaeologist with a passion for cooking. Their chemistry is palpable, adding a delightful spark to their unconventional romance.
The film's narrative, while reminiscent of other romantic comedies, is well-executed and emotionally engaging. The story explores themes of loneliness, second chances, and the power of human connection, all while celebrating the joys of food and cooking.
Nana Patekar delivers a heartwarming performance as Tukaram, bringing a gruff charm and vulnerability to the role. Ali Fazal and Taapsee Pannu provide solid support as a younger couple whose own romantic journey intertwines with Tukaram and Madhura's.
The film's visuals are appealing, with the vibrant colors and culinary delights adding to the overall sensory experience. The music is pleasant, though not particularly memorable.
While "Tadka" may not be groundbreaking in its storytelling, it offers a comforting and enjoyable cinematic experience. The film's charming performances, particularly from Shriya Saran, and its celebration of food and human connection make it a worthwhile watch for those seeking a lighthearted and heartwarming romantic comedy.

Just finished watching this gem, it was a very beautiful and refreshing story. All actors have done a great job to deliver strong performance on a well written and engaging story. Especially Nana and Shriya have to be commended for their effort to bring their respective characters alive. Nana's screen presence was absolutely amazing, the range of emotions and depth he has shown in this role has been missing from lot of modern romantic comedies. I hope this movie becomes more popular and more people watch it to keep these style of cinema alive.
Please make more movies like this, as it stimulates positive emotions and makes people fall in love with love again.

The movie script is a copy piece of sirf tum movie. The love by voice is an experiment. Overall movie is good. But the end need some more scenes like confession by duplicate couple to the main couple. The songs not properly fit with the script. Some character are just burdening the movie. Too much emotional scene by Mandra making no sense. The dialogues of Tukaram/Nana Patekar is as previously seen in all his movies, so no improvement in acting is seen. The movie is entertaining after all and put the viewer in suspense till last whether the couple can meet each other. If script was well developed by more modification in story then it will be big hit this year in cinema halls.

Wah kya Tadka h..Kamal kar diya👌. This movie will make you laugh, will make you cry and even bite your nails. In this age of social media and smart phone, the main character of this movie, our favorite Nana Patekar uses that old small phone and accidentally picks up a wrong member from a lady and slowly and slowly after sharing their views about their love for food start to fall for each other. The sweet part us that they fall fir each other without knowing how they look. What matters to them was simplicity and respect for each other. In this age falling for someone just because of a wrong number is unacceptable but it happened here and the story continued flawlessly. Very simple and cute movie. May be this will make people to respect and believe in love again.
Except Nana...everything is cheap..ali pannu direction dialogs ...all cheap...original one was nice.. but this one is just from gutter ..cheap overacting rather no acting ....worthless...total time waste ........not even a single character looks real...all artificial...on top of it ..other than Nana no 9ne knows how to act .....
.what to do....cluless.........producers are also without brains ....who would put money in such a worthless movie and such cheap actors.........movie unnecessary
Ali is such a cheap actor.....will never watch any movie with him in it......unnecessary itni lambi movie bnayi...vaise bnahi hi q...stypid.
Not many films are present there nowadays that will make you feel good in Bollywood. Only few dramas that produce here can be said to be standing in a vie with south movies in present time, it seems to me. As in mass, thriller, horror, romance and almost all others genre movie's of south are surpassing or manifested to all kinds of audiences now. Recent time movies like Qarib Qarib Singlle, Ludo, Dasvi and this one from this genre make it worthy to still look up to Bollywood. It's a remake though, I think it's well executed. Though flaws like bad dubbing of tapsee's voice seems weird, It's a good entertainer overall.
Tadka... Love is cooking review :
Completed in 2017, Tadka...Love is cooking is a dish served half a decade late and tastes just as stale. Adapted from a successful Malayalam romcom which I haven't seen, this is actor Prakash Raj's maiden Hindi release as a director which made its way straight to Zee5 this week without any marketing or publicity. If I have to believe the film mags, Tadka got stuck in a legal hassle after none of the cast and crew members got paid and some cheques got bounced!!
The film revolves around two couples - one is the middle aged foodie Nana Patekar who wishes to take the chance phone conversation with RJ Shriya Saran further but is too shy to meet her on a date and the second is the young Ali Fazal who goes on a date in place of Nana and falls for Taapsee Pannu who fills in for Shriya. Both try to hide each other's identities right till the climax which just drags on and on and on..
Nothing much to recommend here except maybe Nana Patekar's monologue on slapping friend Murali Sharma and asking him to respect his "space". Nana is truly excellent here!! Another remarkable scene is at a restaurant where Shriya goes for dinner with her boss who makes a pass at her. Superb!
Other than that, Tadka is a painful watch especially seeing Taapsee Pannu and Ali Fazal behaving as if they are in their teens!! Taapsee's voice appears dubbed by someone who really hates her. It is so jarring and pathetic!! Prakash Raj's direction is lacklustre with the film appearing stretched and overlong even at less than two hours. This tadka is totally pheeka and stale. Avoid it!!
Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

After a long time got to see a master piece of such a cute love story. It just brought a warm smile on my face. I never go and post any comment instead enjoy what's made for us but for this movie I really felt applauding.
Though the name of this movie is Tadka, but the taste is really a kind of heart melting & some toppings which makes you laugh n smile.
Thank you to the script writer, director, Tukaram, Madhura and every ingredient who worked on this movie to make it simple yet special. Keep it up. And nana a special hug to you.
I will simply say, just don't hop on any review and instead watch it without any distraction. It's worth it.

The storyline and the plot twist engaging and the description of the word LOVE that's that got me truly there
Just smilingly enjoyed every second of the movie
Nana and shriya were fabulous as usually and the side characters too played a very good job
The morals to face the fears and the way of expression of feelings just through words and expressions amazing
Really appreciate the writer and director of the movie
Nana middle speech on how he is like this subtle and a food loving person finding his memories towards the food I related to that very much
And the use of RJ was a great move to the story giving it a vibe
Thanks for this masterpiece...

What happened 😕 when a 70yrs old man finding a girl for marriage. Are we fool or what?? Please give atleast some justice to hero age. 🙏 If hero is 70yrs then atkeast find a girl of 55-60yrs, it's really really weird.
I saw this movie on ZEE 5 though as Nana Patekar is a very good actor but the role was not suited him atall he acted as father figure many years back why the producer/director gave him a role of 25-30yrs old boy.
Sorry to say but now in Indian cinema left with only Old and V Old hero. Please do a survey if someone wants or not to watch Budhdha category as a main lead in movies or not. So many other young actors would be suitable for this role instead of Nana Patekar. Attention..

This movie is simply entertaining with a wonderful love story. It's nothing fancy, but you'll love it if you love subcontinental culture.
Yes, it could be a remake of some other film, but if you're watching this story for the first time, you'll love it.
All the actors were not only acting but were so involved with the characters, from college love to the definition of love.
Excellent direction, especially the connection between food, love, and feelings.
He explained loneliness very well, showing how it affects people and their daily lives.
Friendship and comedy.
Thanks and love to Nana Patekar, Shriya Sara, Taapsee Pannu, Ali Fazal, and all the artists for their beautiful acting.

This movie has no content for a 2 hour long runtime. This could have been an interesting movie if it was made a just thirty to forty minute long. Rest of the time is just an unnecessary stretch added to the story. Majority of the part is extremely slow and added for no reason. I was so bored that I had to fast forward many scenes to complete the movie.
Even if it is a remake, the original one is much better because of befitting characters who performed well. But in this movie, apart from Nana Patekar, every other major character was no less than an over actor. As always Tapsee Pannu was super bad in acting. We all know why she still gets movies, but that's a different topic.... Overall this movie is an utter waste of time.

Such a beautiful couples who loved their habits and words they haven't seen each other, and I think the movie name "Tadka" doesn't suits that beautiful love story with pure feelings. It should be "An Unconditional Love".
And I haven't more words but required characters are 600 and 300 characters are still remaining so I'm writing dummy text sorry ignored last lines..
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to lorem ipsum lorem ipsum.

Yet another remake based on the South Indian malayalam movie ~ Salt and Pepper.
When bollywood is unable to find anything original. Yet another remake from an old malayalam movie "salt and pepper". A feel good flick.
Seems to be a copy past of the original. But the cast looks well put in and have pulled off reasonably well. But somehow doesn't quiet come in par with the original as usual.
Either way a good OTT movie watch to pass your time and wrap up with a good note. Prakash Raj have done a more than decent job and wouldn't be surprised to see more flicks from the actor - director.
A comeback for some of the artists too.

If you are into old school romance, poetry and stuff then you should definitely watch this movie. Nana Patekar and Shriya Saran fits so perfectly in their roles. Nana's dialogue delivery and acting feels like a treat after a long time.
The plot develops a small comparison between new age temporary romance vs poetic or hopeless romantics who believe that they are born for that one person.
I don't usually do reviews but this one just took me back to the time when I first watched Irfan khan's "Qarib Qarib Single". These movies have a different vibe to them and being a Romance and Poetry lover I love these movies.

Generally tadkas are spicy and tangy but this one is not that spicy and tangy
The plot was good of a weird man about his likings for food and how he relates the same with his life and love.
Nana was good and was seen after a long time but his typical way of acting is still a unique proposition to see some emotions he created was very hard like space of ourselves
This time tapsee was a side one probably this is a old time movie along with shreya both were normal
Prakash raj debut directional was accurate but the story went sideline and focused on other couple love story..in my sense it should be like nana and Shreya should be in relation but it breaks because of his weirdness and then they end up again together with more of nanas humour
This weekend we have ample of movies let's see who hits.

Loved the story line. Very refreshing from the typical Bollywood romance. Great performance from Nana Patekar, Shreya Saran and the entire team. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a subtle and realistic relationship portrayal.
The movie is about a romance between two food lovers (my wife kept telling me that it's probably a story about me😀). Initially felt awkward with dubbing for Tapsi but then googled and realised that this movie was shot in 2016.
A great directorial debut of Prakash Raj and production of Sameer Dixit. Look forward to similar quality work from Sameer Dixit and team.

What happens when a man who never knows what's love meets a lady unexpectedly and How's their spicy conversation turns out to be soft and sweet, That's Tadka's 1st half. But after Interval the story turns into an interesting way which changes both of our lead roles life style.
So can they meet their right person?
That's all about the modern day zaykedaar movie Tadka... Nana Patekar has done a tremendous job in this movie. His voice, his acting, his funny lines and also his romantic poetries, In all way seeing Nana Patekar in a new look after so many years is a treat for cinefiles. He has delivered a beautiful dialogue during 1:30:00 to 1:33:00.. That's a beautiful moment.
Shriya Saran has proved that she is better actress as always. Looking beautiful and has shown a matured behaviour in his character.
Beautifully shot in Goa, Prakash Raj has done such a wonderful experiment with his directorial debut
A must watch..👍👍👍
