I can't help but compare Cold Case: Shinjitsu no Tobira to the american version, as a big fan of the later. Honestly, it was better than I was expecting. The cases were good and interesting, and, especially, well acted. The leading lady was phenomenal as well. However, each episode, even though it started strongly, the intensity lessen towards the end and it, somehow, felt less. The final case was really good as well, but I do wish they explored the leading lady's character a bit more, as they had added her story in that case. So, overall, seven out of ten.

I think this show definitely focuses more on societal issues than the crimes themselves. I also totally agree with the other review that the tension lessens towards the end of each story a lot of the times, but that is actually something I personally enjoy, part of the reason why I rated it slightly better.
P. S. A huge fan of ONE OK ROCK and really enjoyed hearing their songs used at the end of several episodes :)
