3 Seconds (2016)
** 1/2 (out of 4)
Alex J. Mann directed this two minute short that has a young lady (Allison Raskin) sleeping when she receive a Snapchat. When she opens the chat she sees that someone took a picture of her sleeping and send it to her. She goes back to sleep but then it happens again.
I thought 3 SECONDS did a pretty good job with its story as it takes a current trend and tries to do something creepy with it. I thought Mann did a good job with the direction but there was one major issue that I had with the film, which kept it from being a lot better. That issue was the reaction of the lady when she receives the first and second text. I mean, she's hardly bothered by it and I think with the short running time it would have played better if they went for terror and suspense right from the start. Her reaction just didn't seem all that believable to me and I felt these early moments should have been used to pump up some suspense. Still, the short was well-made and is worth watching.
