    It Fails to impress

    The film tries to capture how a Tunisian son's decision to join the ISIS in the "caliphate" affects his mother in the process of divorce.

    It's a serious film that's an acting challenge. The lead actress is effective in some dramatic scenes but, overall, the film fails to impress.

    There's one that deals with a similar subject but is done much better. I'm referring to the 2020 film, Caliphate/Kalifat.
