Episode 1 was very good, But episode 2 a huge disappointment. However, episodes 3 through 5 were enjoyable. Skip episode two and you will most likely enjoy this series.

The stories remind me of some of Ray Bradbury's short stories. They have heart and a sweetly reminiscent quality. I enjoyed the first two stories the most. Maybe people were expecting more, but I felt each episode was enjoyable, if not "amazing."

Yes Episode 1 was dull and Episode 2 was utterly awful but wait... Episode 3 is actually quite charming and has that Spielberg vibe. And great to see Robert Forster in one of his last roles.
Just watched the premiere episode and it was a good watch. Sadly, it didn't leave me with the same feelings as the original series. It wasn't an Amazing Story, only a Good One. The basic plot had everything you could want. But, the dialogue was a little too PC (aren't we all getting a little tired of that?) and the acting wasn't top notch. I'm hopeful for future episodes though. UPDATE: Just finished watching episode 2 and it was okay. That's about it. Being brutally honest, this reboot could be renamed 'Mediocre Stories'. When the original series premiered 35 years ago, it was ground breaking. They were spending over $1 Million Dollars an episode on the best talent to do the best stories. That's just not happening on the reboot. They're okay shows and I've enjoyed both of them. But, they're nothing special. I wouldn't want to watch them again. You know how some shows are so good that you want to watch them the next day just to see if you missed anything? You don't get that here.

I hope the first episode is an indication of the quality we should expect to see in the rest of the series. I don't usually write reviews but after seeing all the silly low reviews I owed it to the people who worked so hard on this. If you are so fragile that you were triggered by the mention of climate change or the brief recognition of two men having a family, you may want to pass. If you are a reasonable human being chances are you will find it a romantic story of self-sacrifice.

You should watch this series exclusively for episode 1 and episode 5. Espisode 3 is also good and episode 4 is below average. BUT episode 2 got to be one of the worst episode in web series..... what a horrible story and over all direction it is.... phewww!!! So watch this series but skip episode 2. Don't worry all stories are independent of each other and no connection.

With Spielberg's name rubber stamped on the front of this, I thought we were going to get something halfway passable. Alas, this piece of production is shoddy and, at its best, B rate. The second episode, which I have renamed 'Ghost Runner', followed like a Goosebumps novel - its primary audience seemingly being 11 to 15 year-olds. Think I personally could have written better. Tragic.

I was a huge fan of the original. I read the reviews on here and was very skeptical about trying this version out. I am so happy that I ignored all of the negative reviews. I have made it through episode 4 and I am just as hooked to this reboot as I was to the original. What wonderful stories so far. I can not wait to get to the next episode. The first episode, the cellar was touching. The second episode, The Heat was simply better than most regular television shows I have seen recently. The third episode, Dynoman and the volt brought me back to my childhood and the last episode, Signs of Life brought back the Sci-Fi touch. After re-reading the reviews, I guess that this type of show may not be something for everyone because it is a self contained story for each episode. I recommend that you put it on for yourself and make your own judgement. I personally loved everything about it so far.

First episode ''the cellar'' I loved it. Very good story and a series produced by Steven Spielberg. Come on guys, giving bad reviews just to give a bad review is so sad!
Can't wait to see more of the few episodes he produced on Amazing Stories.
I hope Apple TV+ becomes as popular as Netflix. Netflix is all about quantity and not quality. Apple TV+ does a great job on quality so far.

1.5 out of 5 stars.
Amazing Stories overall first five episodes of the season has been pretty terrible and flat out horrible. The first episode with Dylan O Brien was so far the only good one. The rest is a waste of time. The stories has been boring and dumb. The scripts and directions does not live up to today. They are cliche and stupid. The acting is dull. The cast ensemble in these few episodes are forgettable. I am definitely giving up on this series as it just continues to go downhill.

Shocked and saddened by so many poor reviews about this series. Know your audience and open your minds. Brilliant for young teens, it's called 'Amazing Stories' - and it's that.

I was so excited because I used to love this series as a kid. I go to show my kids this "new" series and what a disappointment!

The stories are good and getting better; and with no political message based plots; this is what they should had went for with the new Twilight Zone.

Episode 2 is a bit boring, but 1 and 3 are pretty good.
This was the only Apple original I thought sounded even remotely interesting. I loved the Twilight zone and outer limits. I liked Black mirror and the original Amazing stories. This just isn't even close to being on the same level of any of the previously mentioned shows.

Never heard of "Amazing stories" before. Gave it a shot, and I really enjoyed it. Binged it in one night. I am surprised that it has so many bad reviews! I will recommend it to my friends and family :-)

Actually, the real original was one of the first science fiction magazines, where many in the field got their start and honed their craft.
As to the 1985 Spielberg series, I remember all the hype surrounding its premiere and then the first episode spent the entire hour trying to make you wonder whether or not there would be a "ghost" train (in fact, the title of the episode) and then surprise, surprise, at the end the ghost train did indeed appear.
It was completely underwhelming (an all too often common attribute of Spielberg's work in general), dreary, boring and completely un-amazing.
This iteration at least has some story, something to relate to, something other than an outsider to true speculative fiction trying to imitate, but only grasping the superficial aspects while missing entirely the essence and wonder that makes special this and related genres.
So maybe this is "faint" praise, but at least it held my interest, unlike the "original".
I do look forward to future episodes.
As to those who are offended by the supposed "liberal" agenda, it much more shows their own biases and prejudices, just like those that don't like a black Jesus or Santa Claus (but don't complain about such as Charlton Heston in such roles, who is actually much less historically "correct" in such roles, in skin color, height, hygiene, etc.).
A character who just happens to be gay is fine, it doesn't have to serve a grander purpose or ulterior motive, just as a character who is not does not.
Again, those offended by these things betray their own (perhaps unconscious) prejudices; one must ask why they are so sensitive to such things...

Honestly i was excite after watching "the cellar" epsode 1. but after that everything was not even average. the superhero grandpa episode was ok. everything else is just a bad attempt of trying to make a unique story.

Wow. 1 st episode predictable. Bland. Nothing deep.
2nd episode SO SO BAD. Utterly lacks depth of any kind. Shallow. Nothing beyond the limitation of thinking mind even after 'death'. The expressions, emotions, so predictable and bland and old energy.

Come guys this is a series produced by Steven Spielberg. I watched eposide 1 ''The Cellar'' which is produced by him and I loved it. Great storyline and out of the box.
Sad how other reviewers are downgrading a good series. I love Apple TV+ so farm, quality over quantity unlike it's biggest rival Net fliix.
