High-school rebel Gika uses an over-sized chainsaw to battle with her classmates, who have been turned into bizarre mutant cyborgs by evil school-girl genius Nemo.
If I hadn't already seen the likes of Helldriver, Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl, RoboGeisha, Tokyo Gore Police, Deadball, and Machine Girl, I probably would have rated Bloody Chainsaw Girl a tad higher than I actually have. But following in the wake of those films (and many others I haven't even mentioned), this addition to the bonkers new-wave Japanese splatterpunk genre feels very tired, adding little that we haven't seen before in trashy Asian exploitation cinema (most notably, bizarre mutants with weird weaponry, cheesy gore effects, and the occasional up-skirt shot). The film also suffers from an air of cheapness (a shot-on-video aesthetic and weak visual effects) and way too much talking towards the end.
4/10. I'm surprised at how bored I was.
