Many scenes were shot in Florence. Thus, the scenes inside the Florence town hall (Palazzo Vecchio) were really made there, but against the background of frescoes performed a century later than the characters really lived.
Filippo Brunelleschi left no plans behind and no detail of his work on the dome. He, like many others in his time, was very protective of his "genius." His dome on the scale attempted was the largest at the time, even larger than the Pantheon in Rome.
Alessandro Sperduti is only a year younger than Richard Madden, who plays his character's father in the series.
Scenes in the present have a cool tone while scenes in the past have a warm tone.
The second season deals with the story of Lorenzo the Magnificent, grandson of Cosimo the Elder de' Medici, who was the protagonist of the first season.
