Creator Pedro Aguilera first got the idea for the concept of the series in 2009 after reading Aldous Huxley's Brave New World (1931) and George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949) while still in college.
The internal footage with marble big halls and platforms (were The Process is conducted) was shot inside the Arena Corinthians (a.k.a "Itaquerão") Stadium in São Paulo. The venue was built for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
