A decent mini series that never really falters while having enough twists and turns to remain interesting. The only problem is that there have been so many films like it that there really is nothing new to show here.
It's certainly fun enough and well acted, the pacing suffers however as the action is sudden and then padded out with lots of meandering, dialogue being either meaningless repetition or clunky exposition.
Overall there are some great ideas here and it's definitely worth a watch, but don't expect complete originality or anything too funny as the story unfolds.

Pretty good mini-series, might have worked better as a movie. It is very similar to movies like 'doghouse' and 'severence'
It is listed as a comedy but is more like a cabin in the woods type dark comedy/slasher/horror than an actually comedy, i think its perhaps mislabeled as the only comedy involved is where drunk and high middle aged men get killed by doing stupid things.
The acting is overall quite good, with quite a few recognisable faces in there (atleast enough for me to wonder where i knew the person from and go to IMDb to find out)
8/10 looking forward to the next episode

Well just when you thought the BBC were spent they hand us this, a great mix of Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot and Hostel.
I feel the show was undersold thus missed a bigger audience but in my opinion was/is one of the (BBC) shows of 2016.
I could be opinionated as I'm from Scotland but the setting is as dreary as it is here.
Can't wait for the third episode as the first two have set the finale up well.
For a change well done BBC.
Sandy.

I stumbled on this and really enjoyed it.
Black comedy and a good yarn.
Good twists towards the end.

If you imagine a Christopher Brookmyre novel, one of the crazy ones, dramatised by the League of Gentlemen, then are somewhere close to Stag. A bit larger than life in places, and there are a few parts of the plot where things don't quite stack up.
Smart, stylish, quirky and enjoyable. Not a comedy in the conventional sense. Not your usual horror, or crime programme, or drama either.
Some great characterisation. Some of the truly unlikable people change in your estimation as the series progresses. And the ending was a big surprise.
Well worth a watch.

This was listed as a comedy.... total BS.
It a good who dunnit and why, with some black humour and some minor slapstick to create its own genre.
Black comedy it isn't quite. Some humour is logical given things have gone wrong, as the guys try to cheer themselves up.
We did get absorbed despite the 3/10 comedy features.
Won't do any spoilers but it's a survivalist who dunnit, with some twists at the end as most do.
Should be listed in the various streaming services, especially Amazon more accurately. Probably as mystery-horror with some humour.
Recommend it as a wet Sunday binge, with a good wine.

What a beauty!.... This is one series I won't forget... it has a bit of everything, and it does not fail.
When it first started, I picked up that this was going to be subtle comedy, and after the first 'departed ', I sat in awe, as I knew this was going to be special, and it was.
Well and truly worth the watch...I would put this in my top 10 list. Enjoy, and take it for what it is and you will 'get it'...Excellent

I really enjoy black humour and this show satisfied me immensely. From the alpha male bullshit to the alpha male carnage, I was entertained from go to wo. It is a bit slasher, a bit cerebral, a bit python - what more could you ask for. I only hope they continue the story with another instalment.

Watch it for the acting. The plotting is a bit off - there aren't any hints of the extra woman till the end, and even the "we need to kill everyone off so we have all the money" thing comes in a little too late. But the acting makes it worth it. I really didn't want the throttled bloke to die. The brother in law holds up a scenario that tried for more than it could really make, but it's well worth a watch. And at least Tim and the additional extremely hot woman didn't walk off into the distance or have much connection at all.

The characters are supposed to astute businessmen, but their actions are, at best, moronic. They act as if they are dimwitted idiots.
True, they are out of their normal environment, but even that doesn't account for their ridiculous (re)actions.
Add to that the contrived situations that occur and this meager attempt is totally unbelievable.
If it is supposed to comedic - it fails. If it is supposed to be horrific - it fails. If it is supposed to be dramatic - it fails. If it is supposed to be a combination - it fails.
More suited to a Three Stooges movie.
Now imagine if these men were uneducated, bungling criminals that inadvertently stole money from a crime syndicate and were on the run in Scotland. They could act stupid. They could get away with doing ridiculous things. Is the syndicate chasing them? Much more plausible to the idiotic actions. Still wouldn't excuse the the obviously contrived and unbelievable scenes, though.
1. Unbelievable situations. 2. Ridiculous characterization. 3. Boring
