I will only be talking about MUT and the modes attached to it as well as connected career as that is what I play.
I have been playing MUT since the Madden 13 installment and can now safely say I am burned out. The micro transaction have become too necessary in order to win, well unless you commit a lot of time to it. In 13 it was easier to complete sets and the cards didn't cost as much to obtain, now it is almost impossible to complete the sets without paying for packs. The Salary Cap Beta looks promising if they decide to have it in next years game but that will not change my mind on purchasing Madden 17.
The game play really doesn't change year to year, the only change made this year was the catching option of possession, aggressive, or RAC which felt too arcadey to me. They have never fixed the secondary AI problem that leaves a whole in the flats area that gets exploited way to much that eventually makes the game not enjoyable.
Connected Franchise or Career... whatever it is called hasn't been fun since Madden 09 where you actually felt like a NFL player instead of a generic generated player. In 09 there was the opportunity to import a player from the NCAA game and continue the career in the NFL. You would workout for teams and then get drafted. I am not saying that career mode was perfect but it was far better then what we have now. They could take a note from 2k in that department and make it feel a little more real.
The franchise looks to have increasingly pushed micro transaction from year to year and it has become a real problem, but that is EA for you. I would not recommend getting this title. 6.7/10
