Destination Death - An interview with Producer Daniel Grodnik (2012)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Producer Daniel Grodnik is interviewed in this 12-minute featurette that can be found on the Shout Factory! release of TERROR TRAIN. The producer openly talks about a variety of subjects including why it was important to shoot in Canada since they could offer tax breaks and also why it was so important to get Jamie Lee Curtis in the picture. Other subjects include the hiring of David Copperfield and there's also talk about the movie being sold to Fox who went out and spent way too much money to advertise the film when it was going to have a limited appeal anyways. Fans of TERROR TRAIN will certainly enjoy hearing all of the behind-the-scenes stories and I thought Grodnik was extremely honest and open about the film. He objects people calling the movie a classic and freely admits that it's just HALLOWEEN on a train and he even discusses how the movie really didn't stand apart from what other slashers were doing at the time. It's good to see someone being honest about a film.
