As someone who generally prefers to watch western movies over Asian movies, I was skeptical that I would enjoy this movie at first. Turns out, this movie quickly became one of my all-time favorites. The cast, the plot, the humor, the acting, the silly faces (especially Kiritani's lol), all join to create an unique romance/comedy movie experience you won't be able to find on ANY other Japanese movies.
People in the reviews here seem to expect the movie to be a comedy through and through like the first part of the movie, and were disappointed when it turned out that the movie isn't. What they didn't realize is that the movie is balancing the silly humor with the plot, as the plot line gets thicker as the movie progresses. I, for one, have zero problem with the second half of the movie. I think the movie is great from start to finish.
Bottom line, you won't regret watching this movie at least once. The movie experience of Heroine Disqualified is really like no other. You will see what I mean after you finish the movie. Take my word for it!
