Greg Gutfeld is an American TV personality, comedian, and political commentator. He is most famous for hosting Gutfeld!, a late-night talk show on Fox News, where he covers current events, politics, and pop culture with humor and sarcasm.
Gutfeld is also a co-host on The Five, another popular Fox News show. It was on The Five where his latest joke didn’t quite hit the mark.
On Wednesday, Greg Gutfeld made a strange comment about actor John Krasinski after learning he was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2024.
During a segment on The Five, Gutfeld unexpectedly referred to Krasinski as “trans,” even though Krasinski is not transgender. Gutfeld said, “Krasinski never talks about it, but he’s, you know, he’s trans,” which left his co-host, Jesse Watters, visibly confused.

A Fox News host alleged that John Krasinski was transgender after he was dubbed People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024.
The 45-year-old actor received the official title earlier this week. During an episode of the Fox talk show The Five, host Greg Gutfeld reacted to the news by launching a conspiracy theory about him.

“I think it’s great that People has dominated – or announced – that a trans, uh, male can be the sexiest one alive,” he said unprompted while his cohosts were reacting to the the news, via the Daily Beast. “Krasinski never talks about it, but, you know, he’s trans.”
He proceeded to double down on the claim when his cohost Jesse Watters said that he was unaware.
It is unclear why he made the allegation as John is not trans and is in fact cisgender.
John does not appear to have reacted to the news.

As results from Tuesday’s general election pour in, Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro admitted she’s “getting nervous” that Kamala Harris will beat Donald Trump.
“I woke up this morning and I think, like most people in this country, the first thing you thought of was the election,” Pirro said on “The Five.” “I don’t think we’ve ever had an election where so many people were so invested in it. There’s been important elections, but something about this election … it’s baked into us.”
As the day went on, Pirro said she “started getting nervous,” adding, “I don’t know why — I mean, I ran for office five times.”

Joy Reid got the call while she was waiting in a restaurant at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to get on a plane to Paris. Nicolle Wallace received a summons, she remembers, when “I was in the middle of nowhere with my son and had no makeup.” To respond to similar requests, says Rachel Maddow, “I have made illegal U-turns on the state highway.”
When “The Avengers” are needed, no one can ignore the alert.
Reid, Wallace and Maddow look nothing like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor or any of the other super-powered characters who populate the well-watched Marvel films from Disney. And yet, on MSNBC, where each anchors her own program, they are part of an assemblage that is being convened with greater frequency.
“When there’s a moment,” says Rashida Jones, MSNBC’s president, the network likes to “bring the team together and elevate the seriousness of the news.

Former President Donald Trump’s least favorite movie can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to advertising during a seminal interview on his favorite network. Fox News turned away an ad for The Apprentice that Briarcliff Entertainment chief Tom Ortenberg tried to place during Wednesday night’s interview with Kamala Harris. It’s the first formal sit-down at the network by the standing Vice President and Democratic candidate for president, and Bret Baier will conduct it as part of his nightly show Special Report.
Now, sources at Fox said that Ortenberg’s charge is misleading at best, and a pure PR stunt at worst, because the network offered space during the moments leading up to Baier’s telecast on The Five, which is the network’s top-rated show. They never heard back, but felt it was bad form to air a commercial with the depiction of a...

Updated: Kamala Harris sat down with radio host Charlamagne tha God for a wide-ranging town hall aimed in particular at reaching Black male voters, amid some polls that suggest Donald Trump has made inroads with what traditionally has been a solid part of the Democratic coalition.
The last three weeks of the campaign look to be a search for votes via non-traditional outlets, which is what made Harris’ appearance a bit unique. Charlamagne has been a critic of President Joe Biden on his show The Breakfast Club but has been praiseworthy of Harris since she started her campaign, though he urged her to do more interviews.
“Folks say you come off as very scripted,” he said to Harris at the outset. “They say you like to stick to your talking points. Some media says you have –“
“That would be called discipline,” Harris interrupted.
He noted that Saturday Night Live has parodied her for it.

Scripps is backing out of a ambitious effort to offer national news across its many TV stations, and its reasons for doing so may give rivals the shudders.
The Cincinnati owner of TV stations and national networks like Ion told staffers Friday that it plans to shutter the national news programming produced by its Scripps News unit, resulting in what are expected to be 200 job cuts. Scripps in early 2023 combined its live-streaming Newsy outlet with its local-news operations and its Washington bureau to create Scripps News, which distributed national news programming across the company’s local stations and via streaming outlets.
The layoffs are to be completed by November 15.
The company found less-than-robust support for the venture from Madison Avenue, according to Adam Symons, Scripps’ CEO. “Amidst an already difficult linear television advertising marketplace, many brands and agencies have decided that advertising around national news is just too risky for...

The interview on Wednesday drew 1.738 million overall viewers to MSNBC during the 7 p.m. hour, when the network airs “All In with Chris Hayes.” During the show, MSNBC aired its sit-down interview between Harris and MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle, who hosts her own program called “The 11th Hour” for the network.

When the cameras are off on the set of anchor Abby Phillip’s program, the atmosphere matches that of a nice dinner party.

When it comes to One Piece, Eiichiro Oda is very precise in his way of work and goes the extra mile to ensure that the fans can have their best experience. [This story contains spoilers for Rebel Moon.]
After nearly three decades of development, Zack Snyder’s unadulterated vision for his Rebel Moon space opera is finally at your fingertips.
Snyder had to take an awfully circuitous path to today’s two-part director’s cut release of Rebel Moon on Netflix. Inspired by Seven Samurai, Star Wars, Heavy Metal magazine and a bevy of other properties, the project that was originally known as The Five began to formulate in 1997 alongside co-writer Kurt Johnstad. Eventually, in 2012, Snyder retrofitted his idea for Star Wars and pitched it to Lucasfilm shortly after Disney acquired the beloved IP from franchise mastermind George Lucas. When that didn’t take, he then tried to sell it as a video game and movie to his DC collaborators at the time, Warners Bros. There was even a period of time where he considered making a TV series with Narcos producer Eric Newman.

Hot off the heels of widespread mockery after demanding video evidence of rumors that Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) got intimate with a sofa, Fox News host Jesse Watters would like his viewers to know that if they vote for a woman, they have “mommy issues.”
During Tuesday’s episode of The Five, Watters wondered why “any man would vote Democrat,” while discussing a record-breaking “White Dudes for Harris” fundraising call that took place earlier this week.

Fox News continues to lose its collective mind following President Joe Biden‘s withdrawal from the 2024 election race and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as his replacement. On Tuesday’s (July 30) edition of Fox News’ The Five, host Jesse Watters and contributor Tyrus were left baffled by Harris’ recent “White Dudes for Harris” Zoom fundraiser. The call, which raised over $4 million, included actors such as Jeff Bridges, Mark Hamill, and Bradley Whitford, as well as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. “The polite racism cracks me up,” Tyrus said. “Jesse is supposed to be the embodiment of conservative racist face, but it’s never a Republican who ever brings up race. It’s always the same thing. ‘White dudes for Kamala.’ Awesome. So now I’ll start setting up ‘White Dudes for Tyrus.’ It just makes no sense.” Tyrus also claimed the Zoom meeting included “all guys...

The Fox News Channel marked 90 consecutive quarters as the top cable news channel in prime-time at the end of June, with programs like “Jesse Watters Primetime” and “Gutfeld!” continuing to resonate with late-night TV audiences.
Fox News was the only network to log viewership growth in terms of overall and key demographic viewers from April 1 to June 30, compared to the same time period in 2023, according to a review of Nielsen ratings. Meanwhile, CNN and MSNBC showed a double-digit drop in ratings over the same period of time, with CNN hitting a 33-year low in total day and key demographic viewership.

The media tried to keep the current President and the former one on a short leash Thursday evening, but failed in many ways to keep them in check.
In a unorthodox presidential debate that focused more on optics than substance, a visibly shaky President Joe Biden clashed with a manipulative Donald Trump, who kept his temper but used the time allotted him by CNN to largely avoid moderators’ questions and instead spew a host of inaccuracies. leaving his opponent ill-matched to combat him on screen.
CNN’s moderators, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, did keep both candidates on better behavior than others have in the past. CNN’s ability to cut the microphones of Trump and Biden assisted the duo in maintaining order. But it didn’t help them prod candidate Trump to answer important questions that were put directly to him, including his stance on climate change or whether...

TV news coverage of former president Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in a New York trial drew a big crowd Thursday.
Nearly 19 million viewers (18.81 million, to be precise) watched coverage of the verdict — cameras aren’t allowed in New York state courtrooms — on the three big cable news channels (CNN, Fox News and MSNBC) and broadcast networks ABC, CBS and NBC, based on final Nielsen ratings.
Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records as part of a hush-money scheme to prevent news of his sexual encounter with adult film actress Stormy Daniels from leaking before the 2016 election. The charges are class E felonies, the lowest level of felony crime in New York; sentencing is scheduled for July 11.
Fox News drew the biggest audience in the hour-plus surrounding the verdict, averaging 4.38 million viewers from 4:45-6 p.m. Et. MSNBC came in second with 3.54 million viewers, followed...

Fox News saw double digit ratings growth during the month of May, as all cable networks some some year-over-year total viewership uptick with Donald Trump’s hush money trial dominating the coverage.
In primetime, Fox News averaged 2 million viewers, up 41% from the same month a year earlier. MSNBC averaged 1.16 million, about the same as last year, and CNN averaged 518,000, up 5%.
It was a mixed picture in the 25-54 demo. Fox News averaged 199,000, up 47% from a year earlier, compared to 110,000 for MSNBC, down 8% and CNN with 96,000, down 15%.
Another potential factor in Fox News’ ratings gains: In May 2023, Fox News saw a primetime ratings dip after the network parted ways with its top personality, Tucker Carlson, and initially filled the slot with guest hosts. The network has seen some audience recovery since Jesse Watters filled the slot permanently. In his last full month on the air, Carlson averaged 3.25 million viewers in March,...

The 2024 Fox upfront presentation featured an appearance by Jamie Foxx in one of his first public appearances since his health crisis last year.
Foxx took to the stage and did his best to crack up the crowd of advertisers, a tall order considering the bar had yet to open. He gave it his all though, showcasing his trademark wit and charisma, reminding the attendees “You got free alcohol after this. Let’s get f—ed up!”
The host of the Fox competition series “Beat Shazam,” Foxx not only took the chance to plug his own series but also Fox shows like “The Masked Singer,” “Animal Control,” and the MLB’s upcoming Negro Leagues tribute game at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama, for Fox Sports. Failing to get a satisfactory reaction from the crowd for that last programming note, Foxx asked the crowd, “Y’all won’t clap for the Negroes?...

Update: The House of Representatives overwhelmingly rejected Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s effort to oust Speaker Mike Johnson, a move that would have sent the chamber into another round of chaos.
Greene’s motion to oust Johnson was tabled 359-43, with seven members voting present. Eleven Republicans and 32 Democrats voted against sidelining the motion.
The vote was a resounding defeat for Greene, who had insisted that she had substantial support for her effort.
CNN and MSNBC did extensive coverage of the vote, but Fox News largely stuck with The Five, doing a more complete update on Special Report at 6 p.m. Et.
That’s quite a contrast to October, when the House rejected efforts to table a resolution to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy. He then was removed as speaker, with 208 Democrats joining with eight Republicans.
That led to a protracted effort to find a successor who could amass a majority to become the next speaker.

Fox News continued its dominance in the April ratings, while network coverage of Donald Trump’s hush money trial has failed to produce blockbuster viewership.
In fact, all the major cable news networks saw a drop off in the key 25-54 demo versus a year ago.
Working against the networks is the fact that the television coverage of the Trump trial is prohibited in the courtroom, leaving it to correspondents to check in with regular reports along with an assortment of legal analysts. CNN and MSNBC have added scrolls on the side of their screens with real time text updates from the courthouse.

It’s been Donald Trump’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week.
The past and potentially future leader of the free world spent most of it in a dingy Manhattan courtroom, no longer the master of his domain. It’s a place where he dutifully sits down when the judge tells him to sit, where he’s unable to say whatever he wants, where he’s not allowed to use his phone. And worst of all, where there’s no red button for him to push when he wants a Diet Coke. And according to him, it was bitterly cold — “freezing,” in fact, sounding like your elderly uncle at Thanksgiving. Forget a legal defense; someone needs to give him a sweater.
The criminal hearing in which he’s facing 34 felony counts is not the trial we deserve. That would be either the Georgia election interference case, the federal classified...

Greg Gutfeld isn’t your typical Fox News personality. But he is turning in to something that is more traditional at the Fox Corp.-backed cable outlet.
Fox News is expected to announce that it recently closed a deal with Gutfeld to extend his contract, a move that spotlights the host’s importance to the network’s operations even if he isn’t in the mold of a Sean Hannity or Laura Ingraham. Under the pact, Gutfeld will continue his co-hosting duties at the roundtable show “The Five” as well as his 10 p.m. program, “Gutfeld!,” a looser take on the issues of the day that marks a bid by Fox News to woo the younger TV viewers who might watch late-night programs such as “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on CBS or “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central. The third anniversary of the 10 p.m. program arrives Friday.

Fox News topped its rivals in the March and first-quarter 2024 ratings by a wide margin, but MSNBC and CNN showed the biggest growth versus the same period a year ago.
The past month saw major events like Super Tuesday and President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. Although the numbers aren’t giving the networks the blockbuster audiences of the 2020 cycle, the networks have for now staved off the large double-digit declines of recent years.
In primetime in March, Fox News averaged 2.14 million viewers, up 2% from the same period a year ago. MSNBC posted 1.31 million, up 15%, and CNN averaged 601,000, up 27%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 246,000, up less than 1% over 2023, while MSNBC averaged 133,000, up 24%, and CNN was at 124,000, up 24%.
In total day in March, Fox News topped with 1.31 million, down less than 1%, while MSNBC posted 830,000, up 18%, and CNN averaged 461,000, up 8%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News led...

Fox News again topped the February ratings, while MSNBC saw double digit growth in total day and primetime.
The networks have had a mixed ratings picture so far during the election year, a time that has typically seen a large viewer uptick. But the dominance of Donald Trump and Joe Biden in the race for their parties’ nominations has likely had an impact, more than anything, on viewer interest, with much less suspense on the outcome.
That said, MSNBC did show gains. In primetime, the network averaged 1.35 million viewers, up 15% from the same period a year earlier. Fox News was still well ahead of its rivals with an average of 2.07 million, but that was down 9%. CNN posted 573,000, down 2%.
In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 231,000, down 23%, while MSNBC posted 122,000, up 3%, and CNN was at 116,000, down 5%.
In total day, Fox News averaged 1.34 million, down 7%, while MSNBC was at 852,000, up 20%, and CNN...

Rivera’s first appearance in that role will be on Cuomo this evening, the primetime show hosted by Chris Cuomo, the former CNN host. Rivera will appear on the network’s daytime and nighttime programming.
Rivera left Fox News last year, after 22 years at the network. He said that the network fired him as a regular on its top rated The Five. He said he had a “toxic relationship” with one of the co-hosts, presumed to be Greg Gutfeld, and criticized Tucker Carlson when he was still at the network for his claim that the attack on the Capitol was an “inside job.”
