The lead actress, Carly Brooke, is very pretty and has a lovely voice, but Fire Island is proof that even a pretty face is not enough to save a dismal script and weak acting. Nobody ever seems to get angry, nobody seems to fall passionately in love and nobody seems to grieve. If fake was what the producer was going for, this movie nailed it!
It seems that somebody forgot to teach the plot writers that every good tale needs some sort of conflict to stay interesting.
With regards to the acting, maybe it is impossible to act around such poorly written lines, but it would have been nice to see at least one character give it a shot!
A movie should be compelling, but not in a, "I feel compelled to warn others not to waste their time," kind of way!
