I loved the film. This story is shown from a kid's point of view of Prop 8, the California initiative that banned gay marriage from 2008 until its dismissal in 2013 by the US Supreme Court. Chloe Beth Jones who plays Alex, and Tamlyn Tomita and Mindy Cohn, who play the moms, do a terrific job. Many of my friends, who saw it, said they cried. This is a short gem with an unusual point of view on an important topic. Quentin Lee did a wonderful job of telling this story of prejudice, overcoming adversity, and reconciliation.
I recommend that this short film be shown in elementary schools (middle schools, high schools, and churches) around the world, especially in California as state history and other places where it's needed like the US South. I believe it will change hearts on what can be a difficult and divisive topic for many people.
