Following a rash of sightings, a group of friends head out into the local wilderness looking for signs of bigfoot living in the woods but return to their other friends camping in the area, but when they discover a deadly creature has followed them back and killing them one-by-one they try to uncover it's secret to get away alive.
Overall, this was a rather underwhelming effort without much going for it. Among its only enjoyable aspects is the atmosphere and setup created by the situation of having the creature potentially in the area. As this sets up the idea of the creature in the area rather nicely with the backstory about its history and connection to the area, there's a bit of suspense derived here from the possibility of the creature being in the area which is played with nicely once they get to the scenes of the two wandering through the woods looking for the creature. Some of these are quite creepy and manage to generate some atmospheric touches that come up later on. The other enjoyable factor here is the final half where it finally gets some action which is quite fun and enjoyable. The series of attacks that occur with the creature chasing them back to the house through the woods generate some decent tension at times, especially once it gets them back at the cabin where the chaos of the situation is quite fun. Featuring some highly enjoyable indie style gore in the brutal kills as well as on the main creature who gets enough screentime to have a great look at it, there's enough to really like here to hold it up. There are some big problems with this one. Among it's biggest drawbacks is the fact that this takes such a long time before anything happens that it feels quite boring at times. The endless back-and-forth nature between the two hunters out in the woods trying to get the local to speak about what's going on or the bland and uninteresting group of people out at the cabin don't have much of anything going for them which renders a lot of these interactions in the first half as bland waiting for the actual reveal to come. It doesn't help that the people aren't that interesting and being around them doesn't have much to offer. The other real issue here is the somewhat confusing and underwhelming finale that has a lot of questions about what's happening. The sudden appearance of zombies into the picture out of nowhere makes no sense without that buildup into the picture as they tend to provide more questions than anything as to where they came from, how they're arriving at this point in the story and what they mean to the finale. Likewise, there are tons of questions raised about the dream-like state of what's going on and whether it's real or not which causes plenty of issues understanding what's going on, which isn't what you want for a finale. These issues are what hold it back.
