First off, I want to say that I didn't have many expectations from NMA considering that it was a film by newbies but 10 minutes into the movie I was awe-struck with the fluidity of it all. Barring the final few minutes, NMA is exceptional.
Many people say that it is 'copied off' of other flicks like Hera Pheri and Delhi Belly. Yes, it borrows some elements from these films but that doesn't make it a copy but rather an inspired venture.
The best thing about this movie is the cinematography. It is brilliant. The camera angles used throughout flick add another dimension to the film. May it be fixed on a box of gulab jamuns or the corner of a rickshaw; the DoPs of NMA have done an exceptional job in making it a visual treat.
Acting-wise I would say that everyone played their roles to perfection apart from Urwa and Kubra. Their characters, specifically Kubra's bank manager avatar, were a tad too weakly acted for the script.
And Billi, how can I miss her? Her sultry item song was a cherry-topping for the movie. I have seen many item songs from across the border and I can safely say that Mehwish Hayat's Billi trumps them all. It is simplistic and yet very, very catchy.
My only complaint with this movie is the ending. In my opinion it should have ended 4-5 minutes before rather than being dragged out like that. It was sort of an anti-climax and looks obtrusively forced.
Conclusively, an awesome film that is well worth the time for the laughs it produces. However, on a note of caution (considering our non-existent rating system), it is strictly not a family-friendly film as some jokes/scenes are quite lurid!

Na Maloom Afraad is a movie based on current situation of Pakistan including terrorism, unemployment, financial situations of the people etc. Javed Sheikh, Fahad Mustafa and Salman Shahid as Shakeel Bhai, Farhan and Gogi are simply brilliant in their roles. Salman Shahid has got a relative small duration but he is just outstanding as always. Mohsan Abbas Haider as Moon is too much loud and he slips a lot throughout the movie. Urwa as Naina got very less screen space so it is difficult to judge her acting skills on a large screen. Direction has many lapses throughout the movie but the director is successful in creating a good movie as his first project. The climax is good but there are many question left behind in the viewer's mind. Music is good and Mehwish Hayat, doing an item number, is just stunning and she holds the song with grace. I will like to go with 8 out of 10 rating because it is a tight budget movie and is much better than the movie made in our neighbor country. It is a fun watching a Pakistani movie with new faces on large screen. I hope that Pakistani cinema will flourish with this movie.

Where on earth does a bank locker open with one key only? Why were the guys refused insurance claim? Why do we have to copy Indian movie ideas to fit humor on our current situation? It didn't even fit! How come censor board approved the obscene scenes/ dialogues in it? the title was very different from what they wanted to show. Only arsonists are namaloom ifraad? The title of the movie was just a faint shadow of what the movie should have been. after watching it, I strongly felt it didn't suit the story line at all. Terrible lack of intellectual humor. Even local TV short films far exceed in humor content and humorous criticism than the third class humor in this movie. There were so many useless characters in it. What the heck was 'billi' all about? This movie was only successful in copying Indian movie ideas. Why not copy the title too? The slight effort of connecting plight with reasonable/ required cheating was also a healthy balance.

From the trailer it seemed like this one's gonna be a hit n a miss. I said to myself "Our guys trying to pull of a Hera Pheri or a Delhi Belly..heck.. I want to check it out on Eid"
As opposed to O21 which appeared another one of those covert op films(which I am definitely going to see later) did not appeal me.. I am glad I chose Na Maloom Afraad. It is not just the title but it is the crux of the film around which it revolves throughout. People thinking of it as Hera Pheri or Delhi Belly(myself included initially) are correct about three individuals stricken with financial crises but that is where the similarities end.
Director Nabeel Qureshi is the kind of the guy who knows what he's doing. If you have seen his short films starring the BNN guys or previously the 4 Man team, u know what I'm talking about. If u find them funny u have seen nothing yet. NMA will make u burst with laughs and mind you there's no stopping them.
Mohsan Abbas Haider is the real star here.. he steals every scene he's in (remember that guy playing Bhagat Sing who used to roam around the Republic in a yellow van). Fahad Mustafa's comic timing is perfect as well whilst Javed Shaikh is the veteran here but I find nothing exceptional about his character, & that's just me..
Salman Shahid reprises his role as the bad guy from the movie Ishqiya. Mehwish Hayat is ur Mahnoor Baloch in NMA and her smoking item no., though out of place, is a feast for eyes. All in all NMA delivers what it promises without a single dull moment in its entire run time.
On the technical side, the film is one to marvel at. From the production value to the film's music to its shots of Karachi are all well handled. The end is passable and possibly the only flaw if felt in the movie which restricts me from rating it a 10 on 10. Btw I am being fair when I rate it a 9.
So.. watch this one, particularly Karachiites as they could relate more with this city's violent history and lawlessness that has engulfed its inhabitants.. Oh and having said dat keep an eye out for the interesting cameos from some of the familiar faces of TV. Hum Network.. hats off for this entertainer!!

I love this movie, it's entirely made in Pakistan and 100% reflects the Pakistani culture. Also the first Pakistani movie entirely shot with Arri Alexa. cinematography is superb. each and every scene is hilarious. The legend actor Javed Sheikh's performance is amazing. and Fahad Mustafa and Mohsin Abbas have also done a great justice to their rolls. I like the cute romance between Farhan and Naina. I really enjoyed the movie and I would suggest everyone to watch this movie at lease once than decide if it's worth watching again or not, but i am sure you will forget all other boring action movies. The director Nabeel Qureshi, Producer Fizza Ali Meerza, the Actor Fahad Mustafa and Mohsin Abbas reminds me of the Sam Raimi's debut film The Evil Dead which was released in 1981, and they were promoting their movie exactly the same way. There is so much similarity between those young boys and our these young Pakistani's. I wish them all luck and hope that they will be successful in the every next movie they would make.

Went to the cinema today after quite a few days of the film's release with a lot of expectations... and got just that. Brilliantly made, fast paced, great story line, some masala (such as the item number "Billi" ) without ever compromising the quality of the film. And lots of humour. Kept me entertained throughout. Some brilliant work from our Pakistani artists. Javed Shaikh was completely convincing as the stuttering landlord and with many surprising qualities to his personality (as you shall discover towards the end of the film). Fahad Mustafa has come a long way since his initial drama days with brilliant acting. the film makers have done a fantastic job. For long i had been hoping to see a light-note pakistani film. Na maloom afraad gave me just that along with its true-to-life gory and grimy depictions of Karachi's underbelly. Hope to see more stuff from the "filmwalas". Would recommend it fully. *thumbs up*
This movie has brought forward a new face of the newly resurrected Pakistani film industry i.e Humor and I have to say it did a pretty good job at it. The movie had some beyond hilarious scenes including some jokes on our very own Mr. Tuk Tuk , Amir bhai and KESC and showed Karachi like never before, the screenplay and the cinematography were epic and the direction was pretty neat as well (but some definite sins in movie which were pretty hard to miss) and the strike/riot scenes were insane. The actors though didn't quite deliver like they should have and a few of them looked like they were trying too hard. The only thing wrong with this movie was the frequent deja' vu I kept on having because a lot of things were taken from Indian movies and that is where they faulted, if I wanted to see cheap Indian-ish jokes and a totally meaningless and inappropriate item song, I would have watched some Indian comedy. But all in all the movie was good and even surprised me in a couple of occasions.... My Recommendation: It's a must watch.

Utter nonsense. If you enjoy women being sexual objects for men, this is your kind of movie. The reason why people are interested in Pakistani movies again is because Pakistani directors are coming up with amazing stories which have a message to teach people, similar to Iranian movies. I hope Pakistani directors steer clear of the "Indian" model of zero story telling and nonsense songs and dancing girls - instead I would rather they concentrate on story telling and not having to portray women as sex objects. Very disappointed with Mahwesh Hayat but then again I'm not totally surprised since I knew her from her days at school. -_-
2 thumbs down. If I were a fob and wanted to watch an Indian movie, I'd just watch an Indian movie. Please don't contaminate what we have going good for us in the Pakistani cinema industry.

This my 1st Pakistani movie review & it happened to be my 2nd Pak movie 1st one being Lahore to Karachi. Now if you watch Indian movies then there is nothing new in the plot and you can see close resemblance from movies like Hera Pheri ( film is a comedy of error. Set in a Mumbai/read Karachi where our three protagonists dwell, the movie depicts the hilarious moments created by the simplicity and/or stupidity of the characters) also Delhi Belly where there is also an involvement of a cynical Don.
Considering not too many Pakistani movies get released and very high IMDb rating for this movie gave me a reason to watch dis one. Well the rating what I personally fee is quite exaggerated. But if you do get a chance to watch Indian cinema than it is not the viewers fault.
Well now about the movie. it is quite suave in its treatment and moves with the quick pace. But Javed Sheikh do get irritating at times when he don't agree to the plan (may be he is trying too hard). The Item no (Mehwish Hayat) was as classy as would be in any India movie. I loved that girl.
Overall decent watch and I look forward to some more Pakistani films. But the movies should be authentic in its treatment as this was & I liked the way the culture of Karachi was depicted. I did not relate with it too much but few friends did help me abt the same.

A Roller Coaster ride starts with a BANG and ends with a BANG!!!!!! This is my opinion as a movie goer after watching Na maloom afraad. Just like a perfect cup of tea needs a right combo of ingredients same is the case with NMA. After watching Operation021 and Nma one thing is obvious that Pakistani cinema has shocked rocked and KNOCKED everyone with a devastating blow of TONS of entertainment which stands away away away above high than any bollywood movie ever made in the entire history of copy cat film industry called Bollywood. Coming towards NMA , the film is about 3 guys, who faces financial issues in their life and try to come out of their financial issues after making numbers of plan. The issue is every plan they make eventually fails, just like Qismat ka jahil. Direction, well while watching movie you will not feel that this movie is made by anyone new kid on the block. No doubt direction is very fine. Acting well apart of Fahd Mustafa and Javed sheikh , the new kid will shock you, just like is Mazaaq Raat, the DJ shows his talent, this movie truly reflects the artistic value of Mohsin Abbas Haider. Apart of direction the music will also give you a surprise. Apart of being lyrical, melodious the shooting of these tracks makes them a treat to watch as well on big screen. As a comedy movie, the movie goer sometimes feel that movie may not have a powerful story but this is not the case in NMA. Veteran Actor Salaman Shahid has also done a very fine role even though this is same role he played in Ishqia 1.5. Funny lines are trademarks of any funny movie, this is where NMA will blow you away. Some are simple some are vulgar some are classical. The females also did a fine job keeping in view they had a limited presence on screen apart of Naina's role. So get ready for a roller coaster ride of comedy, Thumkas, Jhatkas, Dialogues and reality with a bang!!!!!!!
The best Movie By Pakistani Producer ever made. Better than Waar and o21. This Movie have a story. A good playback Some nice Songs Very Good acting overall. just leave other movies . And watch this. I personally Disliked Waar. its was flop movie. No offense to Story. But this movie was worth it. All Based on actual scene. There was no fake action all real. All houses all streets. it was amazing.. All actress did great acting in the movie Specially Mehwish Hayat. Absolutely Amazing item song. Better than Bollywood.if u really want to make your Night good please watch it in Cenima and support producer also. This movie cannot be missed.

I have been waiting for this movie eagerly. It can be easily said that this is one of the best comedy movies if not the best coming out from Pakistani Cinema.
The directing, story, acting, cinematography and even the music in this movie is top-notch. I never left my seat during the intermission just to make sure I don't miss anything.
Having said that, I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who loves and appreciates reality based comedy!
Easy 9/10 from me.
Enjoy!

Direction and songs were good but story is very boring. And Billi song wasn't even necessary though it's audio and lyrics are good. I think the story is taken from Hera Pheri.

Watch it today at home after waiting for long long time, because in Pakistan there is strict rules of piracy, you have to wait for DVD or pirated torrents.
I would say that it is the most hilarious and comedic movie of Pakistani cinema i have ever watch. The acting was at high note. The lines were laughable. It is appreciable that our directors and producers are working hard to bring back the old days of our cinema.
It was and it is the beauty of our cinema that it portrays or shows the positive message to the audience, and NA MALOOM AFRAAD did that quietly well.
It is my first ever review. All i can say is that it is a must watch movie, you will enjoy it. thanks

I've watched this movie twice and no doubt this is one the best efforts Pakistani movie makers have made. When you have short budget and limited tech, it is hard to compete with international standards but this movie has crossed those limits and is indeed far better than many of Bollywood movies. All of the actors has performed very well but performance of Javed Sheikh is outstanding. Fahad Mustafa has done also very well and did justice to his role and proved he is capable to handle lead roles.
Two things could have been more better, 1. thrills, there a lot of moments where it could have been more thrillers. 2. Using extras in scene, there are some moments, where common public notices the camera and actors.

I started watching this movie expecting it be an amazing one, what turned out was that it was a horrible remake of Haira Phairi, an Indian movie. It sort of follows the same story line with little change in the overall story-line.
The only acting worthy of this movie was of Fahad Mustafa. Apart from that I saw that the fake acting was only making the movie more unbearable. Whether it was direction from the movie producers and directors or if the story/ acting was actually this horrible, I can't say.
Mohsin abbas haider failed miserably at his role and every time it would take you as to why it looks so fake.
Pakistani movies need to start coming up with something original to make it work.

People from Pakistan, and specially from Karachi city are well aware of the term "Na Maloom Afraad" (Unknown Persons). We all hear news about criminal activities of Na Maloom Afraad. Well, there are three more persons going to be "Na Maloom Afraad". Farhan (Fahad Mustafa), Moon (Mohsin Abbas) and Shakeel Bhai (Javed Sheikh) find a plan to take over their financial crises. Their plan requires an opportunity of a violent strike day in the city. And finally the day comes! To find what happens then, you will have to watch the movie. No doubt, Javed Sheikh is an experienced actor, but it is the first movie of Fahad Mustafa, Mohsin Abbas and Urwa Hocain and everyone did a wonderful job. Film direction is good. The best thing I found is that film was shot in Karachi and there were a lot of familiar places for me. The movie represents the local culture and lifestyle. Music is superb. Beside the item song "Billi", I liked "Darbadar" very much (sung by Sara Raza). I'm very happy and feel proud to see the revival of Pakistan's film industry finally.

This movie is well-crafted. The acting of actors is really good on most occasions. Fahad Mustafa & Mohsan Abbas Haider have few scenes where their acting is not up to the mark but overall great job by all actors. The story has few loopholes like Shakeel Bhai's house never getting leveled and Moon's uncle who we don't know dies or survives and recovers to full health. Then again every movies has mistakes. No movie is perfect. One liners are great and dialogs writer has done a bang of a job.
In end I would say it is a good Pakistani movie And should be watched especially by PAKISTANIS.
