David Schalko described this work of his as Dallas for psychos and I must say he managed to produce exactly that. It is a little masterpiece as it is pretty unique and keeps one watching.
The idea itself is pretty good. A rich guy needs a liver or he will die. So he tells his family the one who gets him one will get his inheritance. And this show does a great job showing us how it goes keeping us interested.
It mainly happens because of the characters. They are all pretty bizarre and kind of perverted. I am not somebody who hates rich people so I didn't take it as some message against the upper class but just enjoyed that crazy crowd and what they will do next. Not only main characters are like that, the supportive ones also add a lot of little twists and crazy issues to the story. And this is all performed very well by great actors. I am not too familiar with Austrian and German actors but from what I understand those are all big names and one could sure see that on the quality of work.
It is also great that it is a mini series. If they would stretch it out it could have become boring,. This way packed into a small amount of time we get to enjoy a great show.
I won't give you any spoilers but just want you to know that I enjoyed it all the way and loved the ending. It also gives us beautiful settings and camera work that adds to the shows atmosphere.
