Over the last decade, New Zealand t.v. programs have been slowly simmering, stirring the morsels marinating in its own sweet juices and making drama and comedy series truly reflective of who we are. Coverband has been a delight to watch. It has all the ingredients to make this succulent to the taste buds. OK, no more food metaphors. I tuned in via TVNZ On demand last week and I haven't laughed so much for ages. Matt, Alex, Knuckles, Jukebox, Stacy etc are believable characters. AND the music. I was not ready for NZ music in the 70s and 80s but I am now. "If music be the food of love, play on," the Bard wrote and although it was originally uttered with melancholic intent, I say, ROCK ON NZ MUSIC!!! Quite poignant since it's NZ Music Month. Anyway, I gave Coverband top marks and I will be back for the next session, whenever that may be and Laughton Kora...YOU ARE THE MAN, man!
