With low key promotions and many popular Bollywood films occupying screen space, Bangistan has already been facing many hurdles. And now, certain countries have objected to the content in the film. In fact Bangistan has been banned from releasing in UAE. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani, who is shocked over this decision, also mentioned that they will have to lose out on a large market like Dubai. On the other hand, the film will also not release in Pakistan after their Censor Board rejected to do so after viewing the trailer claiming it offensive to the country. Despite the fact, that the makers tried to contact Pakistan High Commission and Censor Board in order to assure them that the content is not anti -Pakistan, the High Commission hasn't responded to their invite. Moreover, even Singapore is refusing to release the film owing the controversy attached to the film's subject which is terrorism.

Saturday’s episode of The Voice India opened in style with host Karan explaining the new format of the ‘Live Shows’ round. Ahead of its release in a few weeks, Riteish Deshmukh has provided an inside look into his next film Bangistan, a satire comedy about fundamentalism.

“Bangistan is basically a comedy satire about two terrorists that are on a mission to save the world. They are brainwashed by local religious rag-tags and sent on a mission to disrupt the world peace conference taking place in Krakow, Poland. On this journey they realize the futility of religious divide, and come out as heroes,” said Riteish.

And the name Bangistan? It refers to the fictitious country in which the film takes place. “…but the topic and issues are real,” Riteish noted. “It has a strong underlying message highlighting the futility of violence, religious divisions [and] cultural prejudice.”

Just a couple of days back, we had reported that Excel Entertainment's forthcoming film Bangistan that features Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat in lead roles was banned in Pakistan. In fact we hear that the film produced by Riteish Sidhwani has been banned from releasing in Pakistan owing to its theme. However, Sidhwani, who was taken by surprise with this ruling, has decided on fighting the ban stating that he along with the director of the film Karan Anshuman and the lead actors have applied for Pakistani visa, to screen the film for the authorities. Apparently, the authorities in Pakistan based their decision to ban the film on the trailer stating that Bangistan is anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim. As for the film,...

Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar can breathe a sigh of relief. Their satire on cross-border terrorism Bangistan directed by film critic Karan Anshuman which opens on July 31 has been cleared by the censor board with some verbal cuts. A source close to the project reveals that the chairperson of the censor board Pahlaj Nihalani praised the film for its novel content and treatment. "The film was given a UA certificate with 6 verbal cuts. The words that had to go were 'ghanta' (used as an abuse, so we hope it doesn't ring a bell), 'Qafir', 'minority', 'Dalaal', Saala' and 'Saali'. No visuals were cut," says the source.

The release date of Bangistan is coming near and the promotion of the movie are in full swing. Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat, the leading heroes of the film, are visiting city to city to promote the comedy movie.

Though she has small part in the upcoming film Bangistan, the Kick actress Jacqueline Fernandez will don six different avatars in the new song of the film 'Ishq Karenge'.

The pretty actress, who will be seen shaking legs with Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat in the song, has adorned looks representing six different cultures South India, African, Arabic, Buddhist and Russian.

Since she wanted to ensure that the different looks have been etched correctly, Jackie brainstormed with the stylist to narrow down all her looks and did couple of trails beforehand.

Fresh from covering the July edition of Vogue India, Jacqueline Fernandez is the centre piece of Bangistan’s new song release Ishq Karenge. The track sees Jacqueline Fernandez and Bangistan’s two lead actors Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat embrace six different cultural dances: African, Arabian Belly dancing, Shaolin Freestyle, Russian folk, as well as South Indian classical dances Kathakali and Bharatnatyam.

Based on a concept by director Karan Anshuman, choreographer Rajeev Surti brought together elements of dance from these cultures seamlessly in the video.

The song is composed by Ram Sampath and lyrics by Puneet Krishna. Singers Abhishek Nailwal, Sona Mohapatra and famed qawwali singer Shadab Faridi lend their vocals to this eclectic track.

On probing Jacqueline about her Brothers movie character at an event, she said, "It's definitely the most difficult role I think I've done because it's not a conventional role for me and I think people are used to seeing me in a very different avatar. We bring to you the exclusive first look of Riteish Deshmukh as an aspiring terrorist Hafeez Bin Ali from his forthcoming film Bangistan. The actor is seen with a full beard and is also wearing a skull cap in the still. The actor plays a character of Hafeez Bin Ali who belongs to the North of Bangistan and is a Bpo employee.

The film which stars Riteish Deshmukh, Pulkit Samrat and Chandan Roy Sanyal in a key role. Jacqueline Fernandez will also be seen making a special appearance in the film. She will be essaying a role of an angel who will show them a life other than being a terrorist.

Bangistan is a second joint co-production of Riteish with Junglee Pictures. It is directed by Karan Anshuman and is all set to hit the silver screen on July 31, 2015.

The highly talented Chandan Roy Sanyal was recently seen in Subhash Ghai's Kaanchi, but before that he excelled in the highly acclaimed supernatural thriller, Prague.

With many big upcoming projects, Chandan's next probable release may well be Excel Entertainment's Bangistan.

Talking about the project Chandan told us, "It is great to be a part of an Excel project. You know Excel Entertainment is a prestigious banner and they don't compromise on anything."

Elaborating on the film and his role the actor says, "The film has Riteish and Pulkit playing terrorists, and as it is a comedy, whenever the two indulge in terrorism (by way of planting bombs etc), everything goes wrong. I play a Bangladeshi who comes to India from Poland. The highlight of my role is that I have seven different get-ups/ characters," concludes Chandan.

Life just couldn't have been better for Riteish Deshmukh, who has had a dream run last year at the box-office. While his home production Lai Bhaari (Marathi) hit the goldmine, his film Ek Villain joined the niche 100 crore club. On the family front, he is now a happy father of the adorable baby boy Riaan.

Considering his work commitments, the actor is super busy with films like Bank Chor, Bangistan, Housefull 3. There is a strong buzz that he has now been signed up for a cameo in the third installment to the hit franchise of the sex-comedy Kyaa Kool Hain Hum titled Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3. Buzz is also that he has even shot for the film during last week.

Viacom 18 motion pictures and Panorama Studios' movie Drishyam's release date has been announced.

The movie starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and Tabu in lead roles is slated to release on July 31 this year.

Poland is emerging as a hot new destination for Indian productions, with major films such as as Kick, Bangistan and Shaandaar all shooting at Polish locations over the past eight months.

Vikas Bahl’s Shaandaar is the most recent Indian production to film in Poland – shooting for six days from November 15 at locations including Zamoyski Palace in the Lublin region and Ksiaz Castle in Lower Silesia. Produced by India’s Phantom Films, the film stars Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Kick, starring Salman Khan and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, filmed for 18 days in Warsaw this April, while Excel Entertainment’s Bangistan, starring Riteish Deshmukh, spent 35 days shooting in Krakow in late summer. Bangistan is directed by Karan Anshuman with Poland’s Szymon Lenkowski as DoP.

The producers of all three films say they were drawn by Poland’s strong production infrastructure, as well as the country’s locations, which range from rugged forests, castles and palaces...

Jacqueline Fernandez who is busy shooting for the international project Definition Of Fear at Ottawa, the Canadian capital, faced the brunt of the firing incident that took place at the Parliament Hill recently. Apparently, the actress and her entire crew were under lockdown while shooting in Canada after the shootout incident left the city in shock.

While the lockdown was lifted from many areas within 11 hours of the incident, the area where Jacqueline Fernandez was staying along with her crew was only 30 minutes away from the crime scene. Hence, she was stranded within the hotel for about two days. Reminiscing about the incident, Jacqueline revealed that they were about to start shooting on that day but weren't allowed to travel after the shootout. She also maintained that the main gates of the hotel they were residing in were locked for about 48 hours and the crew along with her were keeping themselves updated with the news.

After Lakshya, Amitabh Bachchan will be teaming up with Farhan Akhtar once again for their next but this time around, unlike their previous venture, Farhan will be seen sharing screen space with the legendary star. The film in question has been titled Do and the film will also have Aditi Rao Hydari playing the female lead.

Prior to this, it was Kareena Kapoor who was approached for the role. In fact, then, Farhan Akhtar was supposedly doing yet another film with Kareena which was Dev Benegal's Bombay Samurai. However, it seems that the deal did not work out and later, Aditi's name was announced as the leading lady. After the successful endeavor with Yaariyan, Jai Ho, Highway, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Queen, Hate Story 2, and Kick T-Series now holds music rights of Dil Dhadakne Do starring Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Rahul Bose and Shefali Shah, directed by Zoya Akhtar. Another awaited film is Bangistan starring Riteish Deshmukh, Pulkit Samrat and Jacqueline Fernandez, directed by debutant Karan Anshuman. After the success of Fukrey, Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment have once again ventured into the comedy space with the quirky film Bangistan. The movie which stars Riteish Deshmukh will see him playing the role of an aspiring suicide bomber. Revealing details about his character in his film, Riteish recently stated that this film will see the bond of two guys (Riteish and Pulkit) belonging to two different religions - one Hindu and the other Muslim who are aiming to become suicide bombers. Bangistan is a satirical take on terrorism and other national issues. While one schedule of the film will be shot in Poland, the rest of it will be shot in Benaras and Ladakh. Directed by Karan Anshuman, Bangistan stars Pulkit Samrat and also Jacqueline Fernandez in a cameo.

Karan Anshuman’s upcoming comedy Bangistan to be filmed in Krakow

Poland’s Alvernia Studios is to partner with Indian producer Excel Entertainment to bring Karan Anshuman’s upcoming comedy Bangistan to Krakow. Filming will begin in Krakow this July, with the Polish studio taking on line production responsibilities.

The comedy about two rival terrorists who meet by chance on the streets of Krakow, stars Bollywood actors Ritesh Deshmuks and Pulkit Samrat, alongside a host of Polish supporting talent. The shoot is anticipated to take 40 days in Krakow and its surrondings.

It marks the first production to be shot in Poland by Excel Entertainment, which is owned by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, and has produced 12 feature films with total budget of around $55m in recent years.

Sidhwani said: “We aim to capture the city’s serenity and energy in a manner that best suits our film and enhances the movie watching experience for our audiences.”
