Done for the BBC Children in Need charity, an annual charity done by the network that has its own praises as well as controversies, Peter Kay's Animated All Star Band is a music video that show BBC's legendary children's show star come together for a good cause.
In the video, Big Chris from Roary the Racing Car (voiced by Peter Kay himself) is seen contacting Postman Pat to see if he is interested in joining. Soon, characters like Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine, The Teletubbies, and even Virgil Tracy and other Thunderbirds characters join in.
This is neat medley. Immediately, you can see Peter Kay put a lot of effort into this, not only getting some models, but making new ones as well. Also, the characters that take part do well, be it singing or goofing off (like Sir Toppam Hat pigging out at the catering table or Big Chris pulling out a pair of scissors when Aloysus Parker is singing). While it does feature British-made characters (as well as live action show like Teletubbies, In The Night Garden, and even Rainbow , it also feautres some American cartoon characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, Shaggy and Scooby, and even Ben Tennyson from Ben 10 Alien Force as part of a live satellite feed. The song selection is good (although I have to question why Tubthumping is chosen, as the song is not kid-friendly, even if they did just use the lyrics).

I first heard about this music video from learning about massive cartoon crossovers and this certainly fits the bill! I do feel bad that I'm not familiar with most of these characters seeing as how nearly all of them are British cartoon characters. Well, not all cartoon characters. We have the Teletubbies in there for some reason. I'm glad I was able to recognize Zippy! He's a puppet, not a cartoon character. Anyway, I at least recognized Thomas The Tank Engine, Bob The Builder, Pingu, and Paddington Bear. There were a few American cartoon characters in there as well. I could only see Ben 10, Scooby-Doo, and SpongeBob.
They were actually shown as cartoons on TVs so they might not even count. Whatever, this was awesome in every way. This music video took two years to make, presumably because Peter had to track down every single voice actor to reprise their roles. It was a charity video, further showing that it was a huge act of love. I counted a list of characters from literally thirty-six different shows or cartoons. As a music video, it's not hard to find, so watch it! ****
