Ya know.. Not EVERYTHING is worthy of a multi-episode documentary series.
Just repetitive talking heads... over and over..
I can see it as a one-two hour special or film.. but 4 1-hour episodes of talking head after talking head after talking head....
The story itself may be a bit interesting, but it's not realy that compelling in itself. At least not as told by a series of talking heads recounting the past.
There are no recreations here, just stock photos or footage. There is some archival footage of Pratt and some audio.. but that's really a VERY minor aspect, at least thus far. Archival news photos for character.. clips from the films Goodfellas/Casio to pad the story.. it's just a low-effort series - film a bunch of people talking about the past... then edit it together and TRY to make it visually entertaining. It is comical how the talking heads may be discussing Vegas in the 70s.. and the editors throw in some stock footage of a dinner party CLEARLY from the 50s.
In addition, the Pratt footage is really just listening to him lie on film. I've encountered people like this in my life. The issue is these "lies" are not malicious in nature. They only serve to make the "liar" feel inflated and perhaps more important than they really are. It's a deep seated desire be seen as impressive or important by others more than anything. There's no benefit to anyone else pointing out that he's, at best, embellishing the truth, at worst outright lying. There's no upside to calling him out.. so instead people say he's a "good storyteller". Key word being STORY because most of it comes across as rather fictitious.
I mean in the plethora of Escobar documentaries.. and there are quite a few.... I don't believe Pratt's name ever comes up... Nor have I heard Pratt's name in all the smuggling documentaries I've seen. And in the Elvis documentaries, if Pratt's name is mentioned its in passing only as a "costumer" not a coke supplier..... just saying, I don't think he was as integral and he thought he was. He was not a "major player' but clearly, watching the archival footage, he wants others to THINK he was.
It's pathetically produced, regardless of how interesting Pratt and his "story" may be. It just seems like with all the streaming services even the worst product can find SOMEWHERE that will air it.

Review of "The Tailor of Sin City: AJ Pratt's Story"
The Tailor of Sin City: AJ Pratt's Story is a captivating biographical exploration of one of fashion's most enigmatic figures, AJ Pratt. Known for dressing a wildly diverse clientele that ranges from notorious figures like Pablo Escobar and infamous mobsters to icons like Elvis Presley, Pratt's life is woven into the fabric of fashion history with a bold, unflinching thread. This film, much like its subject, effortlessly blends the glamour and grit of high fashion with the darker undercurrents of crime and fame.
AJ Pratt's story is not just about clothes; it's about power, influence, and survival in a world where image is everything. The documentary artfully navigates through Pratt's early days, showcasing how he rose from obscurity to become a sought-after tailor for both the elite and the infamous. Each suit he crafted wasn't just a piece of clothing but a statement-a symbol of status, rebellion, and in some cases, danger.
The filmmakers expertly juxtapose the allure of the fashion world with the more ominous elements of Pratt's clientele, offering a nuanced look at how fashion intersects with culture and power. Interviews with industry experts, historians, and even former clients provide a rich tapestry of insights into how Pratt managed to straddle these worlds without losing his identity.
The cinematography is sleek and stylish, perfectly reflecting the aesthetic of Pratt's designs, while the narrative doesn't shy away from the complexities of his relationships with controversial figures. The film strikes a balance between celebrating Pratt's undeniable talent and questioning the moral implications of his associations.
What makes The Tailor of Sin City truly stand out is its ability to humanize AJ Pratt. Despite his larger-than-life clientele, the film portrays him as a man deeply passionate about.
