I like Roy Wood Jr, I love Michael Ian Black and it was very funny at times, but I was also confused. What is this show supposed to be. It seems very random. Meaningless points and teams. A retread of the weeks news where the panel guesses the story, quote, or person involved? Huh? It's like Wait Wait Don't Tell Me but not as good. I also saw this is based off a British show of the same name that's run since 1990. That show is clearly a success to last that long. So here's hoping the show finds its footing and a better structure in the episodes to come. I'll be continuing to watch to give it more of a chance.
But I really Enjoyed it.
Roy, I lived in Alabama for 15 years so I am legal bound to love him.
Amber, Does "Things Seth Can't Say" so I am legal bound to love her.
Micheal, Will always be Johnny Blue Jeans, so I am legal bound to love him. And who knew he was so well informed, up to date on current events, and intelligent.
Matt, is a highly regarded and respected Journalist and Commentator so I am legal bound to have no influence on him what so ever.
Robin, First African-American woman to be head writer. So I am legal bound to say she is an absolute wonder and almost old enough for me to date her. Yet I still would. (sometime rules need to be broken)
First Show and right out of the gate you picked good guest so I am legal bound to say I am going to watch it again next week.
Please Keep it up.

...but this one does.
Roy Wood Jr. Is an excellent host, quick-witted and thinks on his feet, while both Ruffin and. Black show great promise as returning captains - especially Black surprises me, he is razor sharp and has a dark dark sense of humour.
To me it is clear the tone of the show is a close copy of the British original, and I think that is a great choice instead of trying to "americanise" it, as it is exactly that laid back, but clever, irreverence which has meant the British version is currently running its 68th season.
BTW I would love to see the American show do an episode with the British team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton being the guests - I think they would pair beautifully with Black and Ruffin respectively.
3 episodes in, I think the show is only getting better, and if it continues like this, I'll watch it every week.

I didn't want to like this show, but I can't help it, I loved it. This game show is extremely clever. It's on CNN, so it's obviously left leaning but done with a great sense of humor. Roy Wood, Jr. Is so quick witted and the rest of the cast is hysterical. Michael Ian Black is brilliant, informed and funny. I love the idea that it includes the most current events and brings levity to such a crazy reality we're all dealing with for the past week. I hope they are able to keep up the freshness and the lighthearted appeal and not slide into stale repetitive content. I think it helps that they are genuine comedians that are quick on their feet to keep it high spirited and current.

Love this new show. After the first episode I thought it was really funny and maybe it's a fluke so I thought let's give it a second round. Sure enough it is fantastic!
I feel like there's a bit of acting going on though, like some of these things that were pretty big news stories during the week I feel like Amber would have known about and she acts like she hadn't heard it. That said she's crazy funny. Like even when I think she's faking it and she's full of poop, she delivers her stuff spot on funny.
Michael is clearly well informed. He seems to actually know the answers to most questions but can still manage good jokes out of it. Roy does an amazing job hosting always has me laughing. What's crazy is they take all the jokes from the entire week worth of news and create new content. That's harder than you think considering all the different shows out there making jokes about the same exact topics (looking at you late night shows) and for them to come in and put together original jokes that hit is quite impressive.

The best thing on CNN nowadays is a 30-minuite comedy show. Comedy? CNN? The most laughs on CNN are when the newscasters fail to flow up the many errors and lies being told all the time. Or when they say "breaking news" and it already broke a while ago. Put up all that aside. This new, quirky, irreverent and sometimes silly show is about the only good thing on CNN right now. They give you the news chopped up, dissected, twisted, and mish-mashed so many ways you'll still be laughing from the last bit when the new bit gets you too. No, it's not perfect and sometimes it is downright infantile, but it's funny, innovative, pertinent, topical, and did I say funny?

At times watching the episodes I was rolling around with laughter. I've given up watching the UK version as it's become somewhat stuffy and dated with team captains now into their dotage. The younger, fresher team captains and presenter, a great mix of guests and a far broader sense of humour without the endlessly now dated pedantry of Hislop and phoning it in occasional quip from Merton makes this one far fresher, funnier and more vibrant in character.
Truly a great reimagining of the UK show with broad appeal even to UK viewers who are in tune with US politics, cultural and social references.
You might not find it as funny if you're expecting it to be a facimile of the UK format, but you'll love it if you enjoy a show where women and minorities are not always the just the token guest or presenter as is the case with the UK show.
I used to love the UK show, don't get me wrong. But they self-censor themselves so much now due to Hislop's history of ending up in litigation that it's always "oh we can't say this" and Paul Merton barely says a word most weeks now.
The US one definitely feels like a breath of fresh air in comparison.

I don't usually like cable news shows, but I thought that this American spin on the venerable UK panel show was surprisingly likeable and funny. Roy Wood Jr does a great job as host, and co-captains Michael Ian Black and Amber Ruffin are fun and good-natured, if a little stiff in the first outing. By the third or fourth episode, everyone has gotten more used to the format, and MIB and Ruffin get faster on the jokes and better at expounding on each topic. The show is at its funniest when it lets the guests and hosts really go off on tangents, like a hilarious bit about an early acting gig of MIB's in the fifth episode. They could definitely dig a little deeper on the jokes; I think they're a bit afraid to get 'mean' given how early the show is in its run and CNN's centrist reputation. Overall, however, the show has consistently improved each week, and I'm excited to see how it continues to evolve as it establishes itself.
For a show like this to work you need fast thinking, quick witted comedians first and second and third. Knowledge of the news and politics is a distant fourth and last place. The captains are terrible and the guests were useless. Leave it to Americans to try to cut and paste a highly successful and genius British original (yes, this does include the American Office which, while very good, was a diluted down inferior replica of the original). Back to this show, I hope it gets better because we need shows like it. Dial up the comedy, pick up the pace and spend more than $100 on the guest artists).
Ian Hislop and Paul Merton, please I hope to God you don't watch this absolute disaster of a reboot of the genius British original.

The least funny correspondent on the daily show (Trevor Noah era) teams up with the girl from "amber says what" from the Seth Meyers show; the section that I always skip. What could go wrong? Turned out more than I could imagine. I expected a low quality talk show at worst, and a surprise at best. I don't know what this is, and I am not sure if they know what this is. Just a bunch of people who love the sound of their voice a bit too much, sitting and shouting the news and fake-laughing? I desperately waited for a single funny line, one witty remark, one genuine moment, and there were none. Just excruciating to watch. I am sorry if this is CNN's idea of political satire this close to the elections.
P.s. The worst part for me: Roy referring to himself as Kenan. Some things are not to joke with. Some things are sacred. Like Kenan.

Please please please make it stop. This is one of the dumbest shows I've ever seen a complete waste of a human being's time. What in the hell is this thing doing on CNN? It should not even be on television. Joanne Kohls is about as funny as a toothache. The rest of the cast is not much ahead of her please do yourself a favor. Cancel this thing get it the hell off the air. This is not fit for human consumption.
It's no wonder CNN's ratings are going down the toilet you keep putting on shows like this. I don't know what you're trying to prove but you're just driving away what little audience currently have.
