When Bharathiraja was approached by Suseenthiran for his consent, the veteran asked the young director if he could make him act well, for which the latter responded confidently that he could.
This is the first film produced by Vishal under his own production house by the name Vishal Film Factory.
He played a Madurai based lad in some of his previous films like Sanda Kozhi and Thimiru and both these films were successful too. He would be looking to repeat the success this time too.
Pandianadu would be based in Madurai and Vishal would be speaking the Madurai lingo in this one.
Director Bharathiraja would be playing the role of Vishal's dad in the movie.
Shoots have been done in places such as Virudhunagar, Madurai and Karaikudi.
