Tom Green does things a little bit differently with this show compared to some of his past forays into the talk show format. There are no sketches or adventures out onto the street. The show is based on one 60 minute interview (although one episode so far has had 2), and like on House Tonight it is done very casually. Green does not have anyone incredibly famous on his show, but they are all interesting and funny people.
It is interesting to see how Tom's personality has changed. He is still goofy and funny, but he seems more laid back and willing to let the guest do a lot of the talking. Tom Green Live is a much more competent, and controlled show than his past shows. Maybe this is a sign that Tom is looking forward (maybe to more mainstream talk shows). It certainly is a possibility. It isn't as funny as it could be, but he's still only 6 episodes in and the kinks need to be worked out. The conversations are fun and interesting, and really if that is all the show is trying to accomplish, I think it is doing a great job. Maybe we will see some improvements, as a second season is coming in January. It easily the most mainstream project Tom has ever worked on.
