Daytime-tv vet Walt Willey is heading to ABC’s General Hospital, Soap Opera Digest reports, reprising no less than his role of All My Children‘s Jackson Montgomery.

Like America’s Funniest Home Videos for jocks, Whacked Out Sports has long been giving us all a reason to laugh at other people’s misfortunes. But where Afv is all about piñata bats to the nethers and cats that attack TVs, the syndicated Sports is interested in sportier endeavors gone wrong. So it’s fitting that the producers have tapped super-jacked Jessie Godderz to host their new series, simply titled Whacked Out. The John Cena-esque personality, who goes by Mr. Pec-Tacular in the ring, first rose to fame on Seasons 10 and 11 of Big Brother, and currently holds the record for most annual appearances of anyone in the reality show’s history. The drama behind the scenes of the Daytime Emmys is getting as juicy as the soaps they honor.

At least three top daytime veterans on Monday called for a boycott of the event after the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ recent decision to revoke the awards of two actresses over submissions errors, while allowing a male actor who committed a similar infraction to keep his.

Emmy-nominated producer Michael Caruso, Emmy-winning director and producer Sonia Blangiardo and Emmy-winning actress and producer Crystal Chappell told TheWrap that they “are not willing to participate in future Emmy competitions” until NATAS agrees to an outside audit of all submission reels in the digital series category and clears up the underlying issues about submissions.

“That is an insult to our creative teams and we are no longer willing to look the other way,” they said in a joint statement.

The 2018 Daytime Emmy Awards will be handed out on Sunday night, April 29, at a ceremony hosted by Emmy champs Sheryl Underwood (“The Talk”) and Mario Lopez (“Extra”), but the lion’s share of prizes were handed out at the Creative Arts Awards on Friday night, April 27.
