I get tired of seeing the one star ratings by "reviewers" here who think they can elevate their self esteem by slamming a movie. It's entirely as bad as the ten star reviews by the movie staff. Let's be honest. This one has a weirdly paced story, but the writing is not too bad. However you can tell that the writing was patched at the last minute in many places to accomodate footage that was shot, and the availability of the staff or cast. Clearly this was put together from pieces under severe budget restraints. Plot holes and nonsequiturs result. One of the first things you notice is that the fighting scenes are clumsy and amateurish, so they probably could not afford a fight choreographer. That's a severe restriction for a movie with combat sequences and perhaps they should have adjusted the script to minimize that problem. Another thing you notice right away, is that the two sisters in the movie have very different accents, so it's clear they were not raised together. Why didn't the director cast this better, or get his cast to fix their accents? On the plus side, some of the music is fun and the nice robot is endearing. And the lead actress is dressed to attract the eye. On the whole, this might be enjoyed by 14 year old boys. In a world used to movies with a 400 million dollar budget, it should still be possible to make a $400k dollar movie (my guess), a thousand times smaller budget, and it is, but this one has too many faults to be enjoyable by megamovie fans. But for the rest of us, it's barely watchable, and for a few of us, it's possibly sort of fun. Four stars is the right rating. A substandard movie, but still one that someone will enjoy.

I Heart Robots is definitely a hidden gem! I stumbled upon this flick during a usual train ride to school and wasn't disappointed. It's quick, fun, and honestly, it's the kind of entertainment us younger folks appreciate-straight to the point without dragging on. Now, let's talk about Franzi Schissler. She's not just good in this; she's drop-dead gorgeous and completely steals the show with her charisma and action-packed performance. I've noticed some low ratings floating around, and I can't help but think they've got to be from Baby Boomers or old-school cinephiles who can't appreciate the simple pleasures of VFX robots and stunning actors doing their thing. Since when did we start hating on cool visual effects and beautiful people saving the world? This movie delivers all that with a style that's perfect for anyone looking for a fun ride without the pretentious cinematic fluff. Seriously, if you're into fast-paced action and want to enjoy your popcorn, give this movie a shot. It's worth it for Franzi alone, but you'll stay for the sheer enjoyment.

The movie is quick and fun, and honestly, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Franzi Schissler, who plays the lead, is absolutely gorgeous-she totally owns the screen. Her character's mix of badass and vulnerability kept me hooked. The effects, though, needed some work. You could tell the budget wasn't huge, but the movie's heart made up for it. The story, set in a dystopian future where humans and robots are at odds, is full of action and keeps things moving at a good pace. It might not be a blockbuster, but it's got a cool, indie vibe that makes it stand out. Perfect for a train ride when you want something entertaining without having to think too hard. Franzi alone makes it worth watching, but the movie's energy and pace keep it engaging all the way through.

Fake new accounts have voted this above 5? That is way too generous. The whole thing is a joke, its pathetic. From the acting to the story,
The special effects if you can call them that are ridiculous, the whole thing is sad and looks like something a few teenagers threw together in class. I am guessing the continuity editor was on holiday. It is fragmented and the story is broken in so many ways. Its not really a decent story in all fairness.
Calling it a story is complimentary, and stretching it..
It really is that bad. If I had paid to see this I would have left after ten minutes and demanded my money back. I really would not bother but thats up to you. Do not say I did not warn you.

The overlay music during 3/4 of the movie made it hard to hear any of the characters talking and caused too much background noise which in turn made it unenjoyable. The cgi robots was very poor could tell they were not there nor walking etc. The movie was confusing throughout except for the beginning.. The movie, plot, cgi, etc Could of been so much better! They were sisters but yet seemed from two different countries and two different families. Was one good and one bad? Who was the good? How did a simple bullet manage to take out advanced robots? There were so many holes left unfilled in this movie.

I zapped through this and I stopped at a scene here the movie's heroine (presumably, I didn't even check the role list or the movie itself before posting this), and I'm sorry if I'm spoiling anything here, but when you're watching what is supposed to be robots, and the budget doesn't allow for animatronics, and you have to rely on CGI to do the part, you should at least make sure they can fix things like footprints and shadows underneath them, not to mention having fixed locations on the floor, not hovering around, clearly and fully visible, and then hearing someone saying something to the robot in question and you're still thinking about how fake that looked, now you're supposed to believe that she's actually talking to that hovering robot that you can't pass on as realistic, for a movie.
Another observation was her outfit I saw in one scene, some grey spandex with cut-outs that clearly was made for this movie, possibly the scene only, and it looked, well, judge for yourself, but it had no Earthly business in this movie, and I gathered that she was prowling around trying to avoid one of these floating "robots", I think, and it looked so fake and not realistic at all. The overall acting that I saw is pretty bad, cheesy dialogs (Although, first impression was that this would be one of those narrated movies where the main character talks about herself, others and what's about to transpire before the movie takes off, like the movie Tank Girl (Got the same vibe at first), but that didn't last very long, and whatever similarities it may have had died when I saw the bad acting, dialog, well, basically what I just wrote above...
This is just as bad, and possibly worse than A. I. Assault that I accidentally saw in 2006 which has the same flaws with CGI.
One would think that someone should've reacted to "Hey, why is that robot floating above the ground" or "Why is it moving like it had a stick up it's behind?", and possibly many many more mistakes, before releasing it mainstream.
There's also the possibility that they just threw something together with some yahoos just to make a quick buck in the hopes that people would buy this because of the title, which probably most likely the case here.
So, put this movie back in the "Pick 3, pay for 1"-bin and select something else instead! You'll thank me, I promise!

I Heart Robots definitely has strong comfort movie vibes to me and ngl that's just what I have needed recently. Fun and cool concept and super relatable characters. The moment when they (tera and her robot friend) leave their compound and think the others will mourn their departure but they are partying(you probably have to see it to find it funny I believe since the music goes hard all of a sudden and it cracked me up). Altogether the music and fun moments like this alone make this movie worth a watch I would say and it has comforted me already twice so will definitley rewatch more times. Really cool.

This was a wonderful little film with a lot of heart. The characters were very cute and our favorite watching was the sweet, young (not sure how old but according to the film "not old enough to save the world") Emotional Support Robot by the name of Q and his antics and "emotional outbreaks".... It was a nice way to spend the evening and made time fly. (Also I believe the film itself is not that long, definitely not long enough to get bored of any of it, maybe it is about 75-80minutes long, would have to check again for exact number. Very sweet movie, would watch it again and recommend if you like lighter materials with more heart than harsh action.

Any review of this movie that is above a 1/10 is FAKE! I would give it a negative 10 if I could. I like Danny Trejo and I feel sorry for him having participated in this horrific mess. This disaster of a movie looks more like a school kid put it together for a project. The scenes look fake and were not realistic. All the acting was terrible and looked and sounded like they were reading their lines off a teleprompter. Most of the characters wandered around in army green T-shirts while Franzi Schissler wore what looked like stripper outfits. The only element of the movie that was remotely entertaining was the music soundtrack. In the future I will avoid any movie with any of these actors as well as any movie produced by Justin Price!

Daughter asked to play this movie on the tubi platform after seeing the billboard on our way home. I was initially worried this would be another "AI is taking over worry about it every second" fearmongering movie but am pleasantly surprised. Fun experience and just what we needed today. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and this movie made it easy. The characters were likable and the voicover really helped relate to the lead and the world she is finding herself in(kinda close to home but they made it sweet). So many wonderful moments, we loved the sceneries and I thought the director Justin Price did an amazing job bringing heart and fun to this potentially dire subject matter.

Liked the movie overall. Loved some parts(voiceover, idea of the story and the way the director chose to tell it, the characters and their banter- especially Q, Tara, Jess and Zero.... and disliked others(some cgi moments with the non main character robot and maybe there could have been a more woven-in use of Danny and maybe two more scenes with him to give him a worthy ending in this story. However I am definitely biased because I have been a fan of his for a long time and just really wanted his character to save the day at the end). Music was awesome and overall the movie was a pleasant surprise. Not perfect but recommendable in my eyes.

The moral here is ...don't do sci-fi if you've only got chump change. Just take a look at the trailer, which is supposed to draw you in with tantalising snippets of what's on offer in the full length feature, it's a smorgasbord of teeth grinding ineptitude.
Bloodless sword take downs, shifting cgi imagery, not for effect, just because they are so ropey.
Danny Trejo is not getting a free pass here, he's been in enough films to be able to detect the stench of a putrid production. If he hadn't taken the job then there is a chance this abhorrence might never have come to light. Yes, Mr Trejo has blood on his hands which is more than can be said for the slain victims in this piece of disposable trash.

"I Heart Robots" is an unexpected gem on Tubi that echoes the dystopian vibes of classics like "Blade Runner" and "The Terminator." Starring Franzi Schissler and Danny Trejo, this film dives into a world where robots, once our creations, have turned against humanity. It's a familiar narrative but told with enough heart and originality to keep you hooked. Watching it with my family, we were surprised by how engaging it was, especially given Tubi's mixed bag of content quality.
Schissler shines as Terra, a determined survivor on a mission to save what's left of humanity with her robot companion, Q. While the story falters in depth and leaves you wanting more, the film's execution and the chemistry between the characters make it an enjoyable watch.
Given Tubi's reputation, "I Heart Robots" feels like it belongs on a platform like Netflix, where it could reach a wider audience. The low score reflects the story's need for more development, but it's a solid pick for a family movie night if you're looking to catch up on some decent sci-fi. It's not perfect, but it's a fun, thought-provoking journey through a dystopian future.

The first thing wrong with this movie is that it's poorly written. The second thing is the cast of terrible actors. I love Danny Trejo. This is my genre. I really wanted to like this movie. I love post apocalyptic sci-fis. I just can't get past the horrible acting. The fact that it's cheesy isn't even the problem. I can do cheesy. But where did they find these actors? Especially the lead female character. She is awful. Also the red headed supporting actress. They need to take this movie and throw it in the recycling bin. There is no hope. It's that bad. I don't know where the positive reviews are coming from.

The script sounds good, the first 10 minutes you think this might actually be a good movie.
Pretty much ends there at that point, Main actress gets a 7/10 for looks and started off pretty well at the start of the movie only to grind down into some totally lackluster bimbo.
Fight scenes look like a bunch of 6 year olds pushing each other around at a soft play area
Getting slashed with swords and shot with guns leaves no marks at all. Infact watching the victims die in the way they do you can't even laugh at it its that poor.
CGI effects - wow I mean my 10 year old can do better with paint shop.
I've seen Youtubers do better video edits the robot CGI is so bad you can see where they have copied and pasted them into the scenes, they float around the screen with a blurred out wobble effect around them and they have this odd wobble effect from the camera I'm not sure if this is poor video editing or put in there on purpose to throw you off how bad the CGI is.
The good looking actress and semi ok story line which does have some consitancy is the only thing saving this from a 1* review
I can only imagine the actors did this for a laugh and offered to do it for free because no genuine actor would stuck around after the first few scenes they must have been paid Min wage to make it.

It is quite interesting to see how polarising the effect of I Heart Robots seems to be on the audience....looks like that people either completely love it or hate it which might have to do with age, genre and general taste(potentially taste in music also). To me I liked it a lot and would give it honestly around a 6.8 or 7. Sadly some of the people are so negative and dramatic, giving one star reviews which is in my opinion incredibly harsh and definitely not truthful in any scenario so might make this final rating on here an eight to counter. Great locations, music, characters and a fun concept.

Wonderful little indie film, very sweet and very cool concept.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching with my daughters and even though there are certain small aspects that could use improvement (as our little film major daughter pointed out and insisted on me mentioning.....) we all still walked away from our weekly facetime movie night all smiles. We enjoyed the storytelling and how much love and positivity was put into the dire prospects of a world ending twice and the characters. A comment about the sisters having different accents and it "not making sense" made us chuckle because my husband is British, I am from Minnesota and one of our daughters is currently living in London and the other one in the US. They have the same parents and their accents couldn't be more different from each other which we joke about frequently. Good movie, we liked.

Ok to me this movie is punk rock af and not the music, just cool vibes, hats off to the director for the vision and visuals. Would honestly not be surprised if this became a cult classic down the road. Raw and unapologetic indie at it's finest and in my book pure awesomeness, haven't felt this way since rodriguez vibes but without the gore and violence. Up my alley for sure and love that it might not be up yours. This film is definitely not another generic crowdpleaser but I know it will find its audience. Big ups to the rebels that put this out, you are appreciated and please keep creating!!!

Feels like a throwback to a kind of movie that's becoming increasingly rare: fun, unpretentious, and packed with personality. Seeing Danny Trejo back in action is always a treat, and Franzi Schissler (however you say her name) absolutely steals the show. She just jumps off the screen with an electric presence that makes it impossible not to love her in this role. The movie itself is a blast. It's one of those films where you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride without overthinking it. Franzi's range from tough to tender is impressive, providing depth to what could have been a straightforward character. Together with Danny, they bring a dynamic energy that lights up the film. In an era where cinema can feel overly serious or formulaic, I Heart Robots offers a refreshing dose of straightforward entertainment. It's fun, it's lively, and it reminds you of why movies like this are so beloved.

I Heart Robots is like dystopian vibes mixed with crazy action, and it slaps. Franzi Schissler totally kills it as this badass trying to survive in a world where robots and humans are beefing. The movie's got that gritty, post-apocalyptic energy but with tons of fun. Danny Trejo pulls up, and you already know he's gonna bring that heat. The CGI might not be top-tier, but honestly, it kinda adds to the whole underground, raw feel. It's not just about robots wrecking stuff either-there's lowkey commentary on tech, humanity, and control. If you're into under-the-radar sci-fi with a little heart and a lot of punches, this is your jam.

This movie I Heart Robots was just what I needed in these crazy times, a welcome escape from all the politics and insanity on facebook. Wonderful escape from reality and simply a fun, light little film. I am not planmning on putting too many spoilers into this review so I will leave it at this: I will say I personally would recommend watching this movie if you are looking for a nice time to spend away from reality and all the bulls*** that is going on in our current world and you are not looking for something all too heavy. Certain moments could have been improved but which film doesnt have those...

Decided to give a few more indie production films a chance this year with mixed results. I Heart Robots is one of them and have to leave a review because I was extremely pleasantly surprised by it! One of the best independent films I have see this year so far and definitely has a high fun factor and a lot of heart without ever making it cheesy or about any romantic or typical parent/child relationship. It just has heart as a whole. I loved the lead actress Terra played by Franzi Schissler(who i hadn't heard of before but will keep an eye out for from now on) and the genuineness and relatability she brought to the role. Also great job to whoever did the voice of Q, the charismatic Zero who is played by the director(!) Justin Price and of course the never failing badass Danny Trejo.

Omg why is this movie so fun to watch? To be fully honest I tuned into this movie I Heart Robots with relatively low expectations and potentially even in hopes to be able to make fun of it but now I'm having actual fun and i can't explain why...wow while it clearly wasn't made for a bajillion dollars it has brought me joy and now i love it more than some of the higher budgeted ones I have seen recently that hat flawless but senseless cgi and special effects all over the place. Maybe it's the new twist on that storyline or the music or characters but watching this film has been just a ton of fun to me.

This movie is a reminder of pure and wonderful indie magic. So glad to see that these filmmakers and creatives haven't gotten discouraged by the negative narratives and shifts ravaging our industy at this current moment and opted to create something truly special and fun. Truly a simultaneous throwback and future step to the magic of creating and bringing joy to an audience and not be stunted by restrictions. Many - if not most - would have shyed away from a film that requires this many effects and intricate locations and storylines and I am so grateful they didn't and brought us this gem. Shoutout to director Justin Price and team, the indie movie world is better for your contribution to it. I HEART robots.
