The bone mask came from an idea Allan David Carroll had as a kid when Jason Rader and he were growing up in the Flatwoods of Northeast Texas.
The majority of the film was shot in a family owned estate in northeast Texas that is known as the Hootowl and is a locally famous haunted house in East Texas.
All oil paintings featured in the film were painted by locally famous artist Deva Hays Carroll-Edwards, grand mother to Jason David Rader (co writer & director) and Allan David Carroll (special effects and prop/set designer). She was the owner and founder of the Hootowl estate and known to be one of the many ghostly inhabitants of the well known haunted house the film was shot at
Roger Schwermer grew his beard for eight weeks for the role of Bugs, the longest he's ever gone without shaving.
