In a scene in the beginning of the movie Elise (Grace Helbig) makes her fiancé Jeff (Chester See) a "breakfast burrito" made out of Lucky Charms. That is a reference to a video Grace Helbig made on her YouTube channel DailyGrace in 2013.
In a scene in which Elise (Grace Helbig) is checking her Facebook notifications, you can see the directors' (Nick Riedell and Chris Riedell) Facebook page in "People to Follow" section.

On Hannah Hart's webseries My Drunk Kitchen (2011), Hannah cooks, drinks, and makes puns. In this film, she plays the camp cook who makes a pun early on ("There's going to be a lot of that.") and hides wine in the kitchen. In addition, Hannah is openly gay, as is her character.
