The Lockdown opens in a with a scene of an anonymous inmate being executed by lethal injection in a prison somewhere in Myanmar. From there it shifts to the US and introduces us to Jack and his sister Charlie who are trying to settle their mother’s estate. That somehow includes the Muay Thai dojo that their father Max used to run, and the deed to which is still in his name.
They need him to sign it over to Jack, who’s been running it in his absence, but there’s a small problem, he’s in jail. In jail in the worst prison in Myanmar, the one we saw in the prologue, no less. But rather than getting a lawyer to handle it,...

With reshoots ongoing on Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, a ton of new set photos have been surfacing online over the past few days and the latest batch reveals star Anthony Mackie ("Sam Wilson/Captain America") suited up in his classic white-and-blue suit from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, essentially reaffirming that he'll be sporting multiple looks in the eagerly-awaited Marvel blockbuster.
As per a recent report, the additional photography isn't expected to be particularly extensive, and should conclude within another week or two. New action sequences were expected to be added, so based on what we're seeing in these photos, it looks like they might be shooting a new opening for the film, where Mackie sports his first Captain America suit.
He'll also wear a wingless blue-and-red suit in the film, something not too dissimilar from Steve Rogers' stealth suit, but it's not yet clear what...

Grindstone Entertainment Group has bought North American rights to Uppercut, a boxing thriller starring Ving Rhames, for Hello Moment Productions.
World sales are being handled by Sublimity Entertainment, which will be presenting the film to international distributors at the Cannes marketplace.
Set in New York City, Uppercut begins in 2014 as Toni (Luiii), a determined fighter, seeks out Elliott (Ving Rhames), a former boxer turned gym owner in gritty Bushwick. Though Elliott first dismisses the idea of training her, an unexpected bond blossoms between them, breaking through the boundaries of boxing and exploring the complexities of respect, love, family, and personal convictions. It culminates in a final showdown that alters Toni’s destiny profoundly.
Years later, Toni, now a pioneering female boxing manager, guides Payne (Jordan E. Cooper) to his first championship fight, drawing upon Elliott’s wisdom. On this very night, Toni might not only lose a fight, but also herself,...

Saint Drogo is the sophomore effort from Monster Makeup Productions, a filmmaking collective headed by co-director/co-writer/actor Michael J. Ahern, co-director/cinematographer/editor Ryan Miller, and co-director/co-writer/actor Brandon Perras-Sanchez. Having found an audience with 2020’s Death Drop Gorgeous between the festival circuit, distribution via Dark Star Pictures, and streaming on Shudder and Tubi, it would have been easy for the creators to cater to the same niche.
But, as boldly proclaimed by Saint Drogo‘s opening moments — in which a mysterious figure shrouded in a white robe looks on as a man spills his intestines onto the sand with a rusty blade — the Monster Makeup team were not interested in repeating themselves. Rather, they pushed themselves to refine their craft and explore new territory while remaining true to their roots: unapologetically queer, raw, do-it-yourself horror.

Showrunner Malcolm Spellman is writing the script with Dalan Musson
A fourth “Captain America” film is in the works, with “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” showrunner Malcolm Spellman writing the script with Dalan Musson, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Chris Evans originated the role in the MCU as WWII-era soldier-turned-superhero Steve Rogers in 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger” — but retired the Captain America shield at the end of 2019’s “Avengers Endgame.” Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson is the current wielder of the shield and is expected to do so in the new film.
In January, TheWrap reported that Evans was in talks to reprise his role as Captain America in some capacity for the MCU. Evans’ return was reported as unlikely to be a new “Captain America” installment, but rather an appearance in an untitled Marvel project with an option for a second film.

Looks like Captain America is taking to the sky.
Marvel Studios has tapped “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” head writer Malcolm Spellman to write the screenplay for a new “Captain America” movie, with “Faws” staff writer Dalan Musson.
There are no further details about the possible project, but the news comes the same day that “Faws” concludes its six-episode season on Disney Plus, which ends with several indications for where Spellman and Musson could be taking the franchise. (The next paragraph of this story will deal with spoilers for that episode.)
In the finale, Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) finally accepts the mantle of Captain America, first handed to him by an elderly Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) at the end of “Avengers: Endgame.” Brandishing Cap’s shield and sporting a new red-white-and-blue costume, Sam saves the day alongside Steve’s Bff Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), and in the show’s final credits,...

In the aftermath of a nuclear war with Nazis, remnants of the human race living on the moon seek a new beginning in the center of the Earth in Iron Sky: The Coming Race. With the sequel to 2012’s Iron Sky out now from Vertical Entertainment, we caught up with director Timo Vuorensola to discuss working with Udo Kier, being inspired by Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones, and taking viewers from the moon to the center of the Earth in Iron Sky: The Coming Race.
Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us, Timo, and congratulations on Iron Sky: The Coming Race! How long have you had the idea for a sequel to 2012’s Iron Sky, and what made this the perfect time to continue this story?

In 2012, Udo Kier appeared in Iron Sky as Wolfgang, the Führer of the Nazis, who – in the peculiar vision of Finnish director Timo Vuorensola – managed to survive after the end of WWII and traveled to the dark side of the Moon. Kier’s antagonistic character was, certainly, important, but in all fairness he didn’t have a lot of screen time back then, to the point that the Moon Führer gets killed in the middle of the story. But the new and crazier Iron Sky: The Coming Race is here now and those who enjoy the always noteworthy presence of the cult German actor will be pleasantly surprised. In the sequel, set in 2047 (29 years after the events of Iron Sky), Kier is not...

Ladies and gentlemen, as the weekend washes over you (and I hope you’re keeping cool), we are back with the review round-up. Yes, in order to cover a couple of new titles arriving in theaters on a limited basis, we’re combining them into one post. Today, we’ll again be briefly discussing two particular films, both of which are quite different from each other. The movies in question are the sports drama Bottom of the 9th, as well as the science fiction comedy Iron Sky: The Coming Race. Both of these flicks potentially offer up something a bit different and may or may not be worth your time this weekend. That question, in particular, is something I’ll again attempt to answer right now, so let us dive in! Bottom of the 9th I wish there were more baseball movies in the world. The sport may be slowly paced,...

In 2047, 29 years after the events of the original Iron Sky, young Obi (Lara Rossi), the daughter of Renate (Julia Dietze) and the now deceased James Washington (Christopher Kirby in the first film), is one of the few persons who’s trying to do something about the fact that the Moon is now a very troubled place. While the Nazis are long gone, the Moon suffers from overpopulation, social inequality, health issues, constant quakes, and even from a dominant and privileged religious cult that worships Steve Jobs. When a spaceship strangely arrives from Earth, even if everybody thought life there was nonexistent, things in Timo Vuorensola’s Iron Sky: The Coming Race...

"Let's make Earth great again!" Vertical Entertainment has released a new official Us trailer and a poster for the long-awaited, delayed-for-years sci-fi sequel Iron Sky: The Coming Race, which has been in the works since 2014. This film was released in Europe earlier in the year, and we posted two trailers back then for its initial debut. It's now opening in the Us in July, for those who still want to catch up with it. The plot is just as absurd as the first Iron Sky - the Nazis are back after lying dormant in a secret base on the Moon, now they're attacking with an army of ancient shapeshifting reptilians riding dinosaurs. Madness. Starring Julia Dietze, Götz Otto, Christopher Kirby, Tilo Brückner, Peta Sergeant, Stephanie Paul, and Udo Kier. This is one of those films that you know is going to be terrible, but you also just have to see it for yourself.

Back in 2008 the Cannes Film Festival saw a number of highly regarded films play, with Laurent Cantet’s The Class walking away with the coveted Palme D’or. Woody Allen’s Vicky Christina Barcelona caused audiences to swoon, Terence Davies’ sublime Of Time and the City had its first play alongside Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. It was the very definition of a mixed bag. However there was one film, not yet complete, which almost stole the show.

“Focus: Nordic Comedy is a tribute to the contemporary Nordic comedy and an attempt to try to understand humor’s social and political role in today’s culture,” says Göteborg fest artistic director Jonas Holmberg. Hitler is on a dinosaur in the first trailer for Iron Sky 2…
The first Iron Sky movie arrived in 2012, off the back of a six year development period. It was fuelled heavily by fandom, with the makers of the film working closely with its potential audience through the making of the movie. Eventually, it reached the finish line, although its UK release spluttered, off the back of the decision to give it just one day in British cinemas. It took a fan backlash to do something about that.
Still, it’s a movie firmly classed as a cult one, with reviews not on the happy side generally. But still, it did enough business to warrant a sequel. Which is what brings us all together today.

Iron Sky: The Coming Race has been in development for years! The first two trailers were released back in 2014, but now we have another awesomely ridiculous trailer for you to watch and enjoy. This epic sci-fi adventure features a reptilian Hitler riding a freakin' T-Rex! In the story, he leads a shapeshifting reptilian race and their army of dinosaurs. There's also some fun-looking space battle sequences. The movie looks so over-the-top and it may end up being a bad movie, but it still looks like it's going to be a wild and strange ride! Here's the synopsis, which is completely bonkers:
Twenty years after the events of Iron Sky, the former Nazi Moonbase has become the last refuge of mankind. Earth was devastated by a nuclear war but buried deep under the wasteland lies a power that could save the last of humanity – or destroy it once and for all.

Just over 2 years ago, we featured the crowdfunding campaign for the sequel to the 2012 cult sci-fi film, "Iron Sky," directed by Timo Vuorensola, which ended successfully, blowing past its goal of $150,000. But that figure was just a fraction - about 1% of what was to be a $15+ million project. The $150,000+ was used to produce: a full script for the film, a clear production plan including a budget, and a four to five minute promo reel to help with further funding, says the campaign page. The film, titled "Iron Sky: The Coming Race," is now apparently close to completion, as the filmmakers have announced an early rough cut...
