Okay to watch, but there's no end to the story.
For some reason the writers, director, producers, etc think they're far smarter than they are and left it on a whimper instead of a bang. Could have been so much better than it was, if it had contained a start, middle and ending that were clearer about story, characters and point to the whole thing. As it was who had married whom got lost along the way, as did several other plot lines, and whole areas weren't addressed at all (where did the chips come from? Why use them?)
I lost 6 hours of my life for nothing.
If there is a second outing, doubt l'll bother viewing.

This is a bargain basement C5 production shot and set in sunny Malta, which is all good. Not so good was the awful script full of stock characters and soapy scenes that we've all seen before umpteen times. This is a murder mystery, problem was I didn't care about any of the characters..
As a show it was quite badly produced and directed. Tonally it veered between comedy, murder-mystery and romcom, it certainly wasn't a thriller. The direction was a bit off with a lot of odd angles and cuts. The cheesy plinky-plonky score added nothing but irritation.
It was dull and the script and acting were well below par. One you can safely give a swerve.

The Morgans return to Malta for their tenth annual holiday, minus one member, Annabelle, who vanished a year ago, the three remaining wives, Beth, Natasha and Sylvie carry out their own investigation to discover what happened to her.
It's a decent six part drama series, it's not brilliant, but it's fun nonetheless. At times it verges in Soap opera, and some of the revelations are worthy of Albert Square or the cobbled Streets of Corrie, but there's something enjoyable about it.
The story is a good one, it's definitely got a level of intrigue and suspense, sure the plot is a bit zany, but it represents total escapism, nice to see a bit of sun on these cold September nights, even if Malta does look a little cold.
Nicely acted, expect the usual bunch of seasoned channel five actors, it's only a shock that Sally Lindsay isn't playing Annabelle. Jo Joyner steals the show for me, but then she always does, I am a big fan.
Give it a try, it's daft, but fun.
6/10.

Avoid this series like the plague, absolutely terrible script, unfortunately the acting is even more terrible. At no time does the plot make any sense, it seems to consist of quaffing large glasses of red wine, every other comment being about sex then a big row then everyone all friends again , and so it goes on around and around.
It takes about one minute into the first episode to realise this is a must miss, it made me miss the days of the test card being screened.
Anyway that's enough of the goods points !
The only plus side to it is that as it is a channel 5 production it means it didnt come out of license fee money.

I was initially looking forward to this, not expecting too much, just wanting something to binge watch on the now darkening evenings. I like the actors and was enjoying it for the most part. I got to episode 5 and couldn't wait for the final. It was light with some twists and turns,
some that were so obvious, but playing a guessing game with myself, I was so excited for the end result. Well.....that's 6 hours I won't get back, the ending was TERRIBLE, so many questions unanswered and no sense to the ending. Really wish I hadn't bothered watching, I was so frustrated 😫 I rarely review TV programmes but please don't waste your time on this one.

I watched the whole of one episode and that was enough for me.
I only watched it as love Malta and I've always held Tanzim Outhwaite in high regard after seeing her in Sweet Charity on the West End. We didn't see anything of Malta really.
However, she is let down by a terrible script, boring story and amateur Direction.
The acting generally is terrible from all, when one of the multiple menopausal women ran off to the beach and started wailing by the sea it was painful. The Angels' woman too deserves an award for over acting.
The sex scene and middle age people in their underwear put me off my Horlicks. I'm 58 myself and do not want to see people my own age bearing all. Let's face it, we need to cover up at that age and have some dignity.
This is yet another example of the dire state of TV production in the UK. Like everything else standards have dropped to below zero.
I'll stick to my Spanish and other international shows which absolutely put us to shame.
Just get rid of terrestrial TV, the adverts alone cause me to what to unplug the aerial.
Do not waste your time on this utter low budget rubbish.

I actually enjoyed this! Reading the reviews on here would have put me off, but I found it very entertaining. It was a real whodunnit and it kept me guessing until the end. The ending obviously wasn't as tidy as some people would have liked but I felt it left a door open to a second series, which I'd love to see.
The scenery was beautiful and certainly added glamour to the series. I felt the characters were well written with strengths and flaws and the acting certainly wasn't the worst by any means.
The plot had twists and turns and it certainly kept me entertained.
It's a shame is has so many poor reviews because I feel it deserves better.

Difficult to be positive with this series - so I won't be. Not good at all. Unnecessary sexual scenes, and foul language. A truly poor production with no acceptable finale (if you can call it that).
PLEASE don't make a follow-up series.
The idea for the series was quite good but very poorly executed. More could have been made of the local area to give a sense of connection. Too many loose ends in the final episode made for a very disappointing end.
Acting was so-so but just acceptable. A single 2 hour production would have suited better.
I've read other reviews, so readers should get the right idea about this programme and thereby avoid it.

I watched this because I liked the premise of it. Three sisters-in-law, on holiday in Malta, turn amateur sleuths
investigate the mysterious diseappearance of the fourth sister-in-law from the year before. They are aided and abetted by their niece (the disappeared sister-in-law's daughter) and eventually by the new girlfriend of the diseappeared lady, Turns out everyone has secrets (uncluding the theree wives) and a motive for wanting the disappeared lady out of the way. And who is the myterious stranger, the divorced wife meets via a dating app and how is he connected to the disappearance?
Although billed as a mystery thriller it comes across more as a comedy thriller or a black comedy. This does actually work well. The best part for me is the relationship between the three wives (making wisecracks, falling in and out with each other and bickering and getting themselves into scrapes). Although you're made to initially disike the new girlfriend you do eventually warm to her, especially with her outsiders aspect on the familys relationships and a lot of her out downs towards the others.
A similar attempt is made to create the same kind of relationship between the three brothers (the husbands) but they aren't as good actors and it doesn.t work as well,. Likewsie neither does having one of the brothers perpertually overseas and therefore neer seen.
And then there's the ending which I am going to just decribed as.......poor.
Entertaining, worth a watch.

My missus has been watching this. It is like Eastenders meets Hollyoaks and has a romance while on a holiday in Malta. Because it is after 9pm they get to say the F word a lot and make it oh so grown up! It features a couple of actresses who did decent shows after their soap career - Tamzin Outhwaite in New Tricks and the one who was in Shakespeare and Hathaway. Also the chap who was in Battlestar Galactica and Law & Order UK is in it, but they are all dialling it in.
Rather than watch this I would recommend gouging your eyes out with a rusty spoon unless you require a cure for insomnia. C5 really do make some godawful drama's.

This is not a perfect series but I loved the acting. Angela Griffin is an underrated British actress and I thought her performance was very believable. Tamzin Outhwaite is perfectly cast as a "cougar". She's beautiful and believable as a 40 plus a woman. I was disappointed with Jo Joyner. I found her acting stilted self-conscious and unbelievable. It's a run-of-the-mill story. Somebody goes missing on a holiday but what's unbelievable is all the friends and family go back and live their lives like it's never happened. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it and I wanted to love it. If you like a story with no conclusion and no promise of a second series, watch it. If you like everything tied up in knots like I do give it a miss.

I started watching this as background/rainy day at home,
It is filmed in Malta which is nice for some of the locations and background, The plot is quite loose and at times difficult to keep engaged with, The main reason I was able to watch the whole series is because I had created my own fantasy of Tanya Branning, Mel Owen and Kim Campbell being on a girls holiday together in some sort of Eastenders and Waterloo Road alternate reality which made it a little more enjoyable watching as if they where these characters and not the Morgan wives, although to be honest I quickly lost track of who was married to who.
I watched this because it was set in Malta. Having endured the first episode I considered it a matter of honour to watch it until the end.
Shocking script and acting. Don't be lured into it by the names of the female leads, they are also terrible.
I noticed that all of the production team were female, just an observation.
Some of the scenes were breathtakingly poor, for example the way the receptionist at the tennis club suddenly changed from being a belligerent 'jobs worth' to being an easily manipulated moron. Then the apparent ease with which two of the wives accessed the cctv on her computer.
Don't bother, the only pleasure you will get is picking up on the unbelievable coincidences and the ability of Angela Griffin to read an iPhone from 3 metres.

Filmed like a cross between ElDorado and Benidorm
Plot easy enough to follow but anti-climax ending.
Love to see this cast working together but somehow it doesn't work, I have seen them all in much better shows, this does not do them justice. An opportunity missed for the production team.
There are twists and turns for some who like bubble gum programs with a transparent plot, you can see it all coming from a mile off, such a shame, I was sold by the preview to give it a go. Disappointed in the end, the guessing was over in the third episode
Let's see if we get a second series I will give it a miss.....

I'm annoyed at myself for watching this.
On the face of it, it's is a whodunnit, set in a luxury resort with a handful of actors that you recognise. In reality it's a predictable, repetitive wait of your time.
The whole thing felt like a trashy novel that you might read (and instantly forget) on holiday.
Most disappointingly, the last episode felt rushed and left more questions - please don't make a second series to answer them though.
I wish I had read the reviews on here before starting this series, but alas, that's four and a half hours of my time lost.
I repeat, please do not make a second series!

Well, I wish I had looked at imdbs rating for this drama before I started watching it and I would have saved several hours of my life. It's very average at best. There's nothing wrong with the individual actors, it's just not very well written, so they struggle from a get-go. I actually thought that this was going to be a bit of a comedy with 3 meddling, middle-aged ladies, pretending to be detectives. For a family who was supposedly close with three brothers in a business they have a huge amount of secrets that suddenly come out of the woodwork , just not very believable!!!!!
The only thing that saves this are the beautiful landscapes of Malta.

It is the most hammy acting I have ever seen in my life. Not one actor is saved. The plot actually could have been okay but the direction and the acting is just awful. I finsd it hard to believe any expression on their faces, One of them is telling her friend something dramatic and the response of the other is just humiliating. It is one of those things where it is so bad................that you have to see watching. Just to find out who didi it. Not for another reason. The cut from one scene to another is clumsy the mix match clothing is weird. I am pretty tempted to just go to the last episode and find out who did it as they are trying desperately to make every single person seem suspect. Are these really experienced actors?

This is so lame it is beyond comprehension.
If it wasn't for the usual profanities I would have thought it was made for the afternoon slot.
The script is abysmal, the acting awful, and there is nothing original about the storylines whatsoever.
I almost felt it was a vehicle for the three leading characters because nothing else was on offer.
Please take heed and don't waste your time on this.
A year on from Annabelle Morgan's disappearance in Malta, the family are returning to put the past to bed, but when Annabelle's husband arrives with a new partner, the remaining Morgan wives investigate Annabelle's death for themselves.

Another slice of man bashing, we're all bad whilst the women are all squeaky clean. If you watch just abut any drama these days, women are nearly always in charge. High ranking police officers, women who look as if they have just left school.
No change here as the wives boss around their dodgy men. I normally like Jo Joyner and Jamie Bamber but they've been handed a turkey here.
I struggled through 2 episodes but had to give up when I could care a damn about what happened to Annabelle. Tamzin Outhwaite has always played an annoying, unlikable person and she certainly delivers here.
It's not just in fiction men are being hounded. E.g 'Oh he touched my arm!' sexual assault! Hundreds creeping out of the woodwork to accuse the long dead boss of Harrods of sexual assault. I suspect some are true, lets face it, not a nice man, but while he is not around to defend himself, the bandwagon is getting well and truly jumped on.
