If you enjoyed the first "Bad Ass" movie, then you will definitely like "Bad Asses" as well, because it is just as entertaining and out there as the first movie was.
The storyline is much similar to the first movie, sure. Frank Vega (played by Danny Trejo) is now trying to live a fairly quiet life after his semi-famous attention he got in the first movie. Living in a quiet neighborhood, he frequently visits the nextdoor liquor store run by Bernie Pope (played by Danny Glover). Frank is training local youths in the boxing center, when Manny (played by Jeremy Ray Valdez) gets killed because of drugs. Teaming up with Bernie after he saved Frank's life, the two men set out to find out to clean out the dirty seed in the community.
Actually the storyline was good, despite it being corny and full of clichés. But there was just something fundamentally entertaining about it. And the movie really flourished because of the talents that were in the movie. Both Danny Trejo and Danny Glover were excellent cast for their particular roles. But I will say that Andrew Divoff really was well cast for the role as Leandro Herrera, and he played the character well.
There is a good amount of action in the movie, and despite being up well in their ages, both Danny Trejo and Danny Glover do show that they still got it. And Danny Glover did bring a comedy relief to the movie, that actually worked out quite alright.
So, for those who enjoyed the first "Bad Ass" movie, you don't want to miss out on this one.

I enjoyed the original "Bad Ass" movie, so I looked forward to this sequel when I heard about its release. I had to search for it in several video stores in my city, but I eventually found it. Was it worth the wait? Overall, I would say yes. The sequel has the good idea of giving the lead character an equally old and grumpy partner, and the two Dannys (Trejo and Glover) playing the leads manage to generate some great chemistry. It also helps that their characters have been written to be very likable not just together, but apart. The movie has generally good production values and moves from scene to scene fairly quickly, so there are no boring parts. Don't get me wrong, this movie is not perfect. The movie cheapens out at one point by extensively using footage from the 1990 movie "Narrow Margin". Also, the movie's mix of yuk-yuk comedy with hard violence does give the movie an inconsistent (and weird) feeling at times. Fortunately, there's more good stuff than disappointing material here. So if you liked the first movie, chances are you'll like this sequel.
I am at a loss to place this film, I'm not even sure if I enjoyed it or not, or if I could recommend it.
This is an action film with a ridiculous plot where some old guys have to go and beat up some other guys; but that really isn't important.
This isn't a 'serious' action movie like Die Hard or Transporter but it isn't a full send up like Black Dynamite or Gravy Train.
The production is strange. Normally when someone throws a grenade you get a slow motion sequence of the grenade in flight, followed by a close up of the villains face, then a few seconds of explosion. Here grenade leaves hand the next frame is bad guy blowing up.
There is lots of action, the fight scenes are fast and furious but aren't particularly well choreographed. Glover and Trejo deliver their cheesy lines and punch people adequately enough.
Don't take this too serious and you may enjoy. I did... I think.

As if we needed more bad ass than the great Danny Trejo attempting to create a new cult franchise to complement his major motion picture franchise, Machete, they give us another well know bad ass in the legendary Danny Glover.
I have to admit, Glover is cool and all, but it has been a long time since the Lethal Weapon franchise and his performance in the movie reflects it. He seems to play more old man than bad ass. What he does bring in full effect is total humor as the real bad ass's side kick, a role he always done well, and this is no exception.
Wacth Trejo kick some ass, get the girl, and save the day,and watch Glover make you laugh. Totally worth the time.

I watched this with my husband. He laughed more than I.
I am a fan of Danny Glover and Danny Trejo, but this movie did both the actors and the viewers a disservice.
Implausible plot. Poor continuity. If you're enjoying the evening with a few cold ones, it's okay.
Darker and more bloody than I would have thought. I did not enjoy watching Glover trying to engage in a sexual relation shop with younger women.
Some of the fight scenes were entertaining.
I hope they do not make a sequel. If they do and it's good, well... I don;t see that happening.

This Sequel to the also DTV Bad Ass (2011) is More Entertaining and Funny than it has Any Right to be. The Humor here works Better than the Mega Million Dollar The Expendables (2010) & 2 (2012) and that is just Incomprehensible.
But here it is and this Time Our Espanic Geriatric Kick Asser (Danny Trejo) is Teamed Up with Another Social Security-ian, African American Danny Glover. It is with Some Charm that They go about Their Business of Taking Out the Trash.
Things Might get Overstated a Bit in the Sexual Allure Department Once Again as Both are Given Much Younger and Attractive Females to Bed and Although this is Probably Made for Light Hearted Yuks, it comes across as just Yucky.
The Rest of the Movie Delivers Good One Liners and Bloody Violence in the B-Movie Tradition and in this Aging Baby Boomer Society there is Likely to be a Bevy of these Graybeards Refusing to Retire Gracefully as long as there are Villains About.

Danny Glover might say he's too old for that ... as much as he wants. Fact of the matter is he's still kicking it (or them). In this case he's helping a friend out ... and who wouldn't want to be friends with Danny Trejo? Or any character he portrays of course! Seriously though: If you have seen part one (not necessary for this one, even though it "continues" the story), you will know if this is a movie you will be able to enjoy or not.
The added Glover flavor does not elevate the movie too much, though it's always fun hearing the two main actors going at each other. Still there quite a few flaws and you'll be aware that both of them are not really able to do what their characters are supposed to do ... but maybe you won't even care and just enjoy a movie that is like a blast from the past.

I enjoyed the first one but really didn't know what to expect with the second one... but sure enough it delivered and it delivered hard. One of the better action comedies I've seen in a long time. Good story, well choreographed action scenes and solid cast but most of all this movie had heart. Trejo and Glover are hilarious together. What I love best is that this movie doesn't take itself seriously as it takes a page out of some of the great '80's action comedies complete with tongue in cheek one liners. Loved that they cast Jonathan Lipnicki ("Jerry Maguire") and the addition of Loni Love takes the comedy to a whole other level. Was very excited to hear that they're making a third installment of the film with third Bad Ass John Amos. "Expendables" got nothing on this movie.

The original Bad Ass was not really a bad movie. Not great but enjoyable. So I thought it would be worthwhile to watch the second one as well. Danny Trejo and Danny Glover certainly sounded like it could be a fun combination. Unfortunately this movie was a bit of a disappointment.
The movie felt tired a lot of the time. Danny Trejo was not bad but Danny Glover never really felt like a bad ass and his fart jokes was definitely more bad taste than bad ass.
The story was fairly whimsical and unintelligent. Some things were just poorly done. Like for instance Frank blowing up a chopper by throwing a hand grenade at it from a car. It was so poorly done that I just sat there thinking what the f ? And then on the end where they kill (of course) the main bad guy and Bernie claims that there he got his liver and that they should put the guy on ice. It actually looks like whoever wrote that crap actually believed in it as well since the final scenes implies that Bernie got his liver transplant. What kind of an idiot writes something like that. Heard about transplant compatibility requirements? Oh, and that nonsense with the ice-pick. If you get an icepick showed all the way into your head through your eye you most likely die. You do not walk around the next day with nothing but an eye patch.
Then we have this diplomatic immunity crap. It really doesn't work that simple. You might get away with a few speeding tickets but you cannot go on a crime spree and expect not to be expelled at least. That stuff might have been okay in Lethal Weapon but now it is really just dumb.
On the whole I have to say that I was rather disappointed with this movie. The first one was better and that one was enjoyable but not great to begin with. There are some fun moments, some decent fighting and so on so it is not a total turkey but disappointing nonetheless.

I only managed the first 15 minutes, that fight in the shop with that backing music was so bad it was time to turn off, acting was terrible only 15 year old boys having a sleep over will enjoy this chap any adult with some kind of brain will avoid as its just embarrassing

unfortunately, the makers went for R with too much nudity, vulgar language and gobs of violence the kinds of b/c movie fights, with the old Karate/ Kongfu stuff showing on screens that the bad guys are watching. sorry. that's crass. So, if you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one. If you stumbled on this one by mistake, know you're in for some real bad car chase shots that look totally fake to a 12 year old and a thin story that leaves much deserved. Sorry to rain on your parade. While I am sure both Dannys had fun with the others making this movie, I had very little fun sitting through. Suspension of disbelief level required : 9/10. Beyond me.
Great movie. Great mix with Danny Trejo and Danny Glover. Very funny movie. Good to see Danny Trejo in comedy. Danny Glover still has it as a great actor. Both together is an excellent mix. Thought the first movie was good. The second even better. Will be watching the third part soon. So good to see Trejo play a role other that a killer. He is a good comedian along with Glover

I think Danny Trejo shouldn't go for major roles but just stick to some minor appearances. He's just not a great actor, at least not good enough to play leading roles. He fits better in small parts where he has to play the villain. Badd Ass 2 isn't great, with a weak story, one of those stories you saw a lot before and way better. Danny Glover should call it quits by now. In this movie it looks all forced and his past natural comedy talent isn't the same in Bad Ass 2. I saw they made a third one but I honestly think I'm going to pass on that one. I can get that some people like those kind of movie but it's not for me. Story too weak and actors not on top.

Not spectacular in any ways but if you like liked the first one then I don't see why you shouldn't at least enjoy this one.
Plotwise I guess it's nothing that's gonna win any awards, fairly similar to the first one but I really enjoy Danny Trejo as Frank Vega.
Usually Trejo gets to play only one-dimensional angry all the time bad asses but Frank Vega has a little more layers to him, of course he's still bad ass but he does have a more sensitive side to him as well as being rather funny from time to time.
And Danny Glover is a nice addition to the franchise, even though there are limitations to what he can do in terms of bad assness his character is funny.
Dante Basco is listed in the credits, but honestly I didn't see him, and I imagine I would have recognized him if I did... But he's listed as 'gangly Asian guy' so maybe he was in the background in some scene. Or his scene were cut out for some reason. Just thought I'd point that out.
Anyways yeah if you liked the first one give it a go, have not seen the third one yet but is looking forward to doing so when possible.

I loved badass. I started watching badass too but I see that Amber and Martin are not in that and I wonder why they are not together anymore. Does anybody know?
When the boxer he is training is killed, 70-year-old Danny Trejo teams up with 68-year-old Danny Glover to take down an international drug cartel run by a diplomat.
I took a look at this because I enjoyed the first movie. However I will not be looking at the third movie in the series any time soon. It is one of those movies in which old guys limp along until it becomes necessary for them to do something like, oh, dodge two men with blazing automatic weapons, whereupon they do a jump and roll. Or their stunt doubles do. The cat is eked out with eight-year-old Melany Ochoa, who is missing her front teeth, and various other actors who were, no doubt, glad for the paycheck.
While I understand that Trejo is not going to star in KING LEAR -- unless that ancient Briton is going to kick the butts of his daughters' husbands -- I have grown weary of septuagenarian action stars. Can we give it a rest?
