Wasn't actually expecting the movie to be amusing but it surprisingly was. Loved the establishing shot of Leo driving on the narrow road with orchestra playing at the background. The title display was beautiful and unique too, using a zoom transition with an end result of a static frame. Amazing!
Loved the color-grading too, pictures were sharp.
Had concerns with the costumes. I understand this was a comedy but it'd have been nice to see characters like Leo and Hernandez in better outfits. The shorts and jacket Leo wore in most of the scenes was a poor choice in my opinion; likewise the dress for Hernandez. Officers should dress smartly irrespective of whether it's a fictional world or not.
Was the slap Melanie gave to Leo right in front of their station necessary? Didn't think so. That scene could have also worked better without the slap.
I had concerns about the summit scene, the one with Valence in attendance. When Melanie was standing facing the sun while listening to the speaker, she was literally squinting her eyes. Maybe it was the director's choice to use an open space but it would have been much better to shoot that scene when the sun had gone down or better still, at a different location.
It was nice hearing Batista ask Leo for consent before kissing her. I'd like to see more of that in movies whether romantic or not.
There were also few shots that didn't quite fit well in some scenes in my opinion, but I wouldn't bother listing them. The movie actually made me laugh, it was a funny one.
