'Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22' in English means you are my bro and I'm your bro.
The movie reminded me of Govinda's hit film 'Haseena Maan Jayegi' in which two good for nothing sons (Govinda and Sanjay Dutt) trouble their rich father so much that he sends them to Goa to mend their ways.
Its a similar story here....two good for nothing sons (Amrinder Gill & Honey Singh) of a rich Australian NRI are sent to Punjab to earn some money otherwise they would inherit nothing from their father's wealth. In Haseena....Dutt and Govinda portray street smart guys while Gill and Singh are portrayed as idiots.
Where Haseena..... was a non stop roller coaster ride from start to finish with Govinda in prime form, Tu Mera.....falls flat after an entertaining first 30-40 mins. And I would blame the writers for this.
There was immense potential but the writer brings in too many characters and plots (one inspired from 'Come September') and the jokes and gags dry up suddenly. At one point, the movie also takes an emotional turn which was not needed. And the climax is also a big let down where comedy seems to be forced. Also, too many songs slacken the pace in the 2nd half.
The performances are OK and the script lets down the actors. And I'm again proved that never judge a film by its trailer.
