It was the great American film critic Roger Ebert who came up with the phrase " The idiot plot " . What he meant by this if a character in a film is met by a plot turn then that character has to make an illogically idiotic decision in order for the story to continue and nothing personifies the idiot plot more than the horror film
Joe Nicolosi has made a horror trailer spoofing the idiot plot in a brilliantly post modernist manner . . For those of you who enjoyed the spoof trailers featured in GRINDHOUSE this is more of the same except the characters are making a much better contribution to the gene pool by not being killed . What is most impressive is Joe obviously has affection for the horror genre and spoofs several well known horror classics and they're instantly recognisable . The downside of course is that we will never see a feature length HELL NO THE SENSIBLE HORROR FILM because it would have a shorter running time than the trailer . That said I just wanted to see a lot more of this spoof but we're treated to three minutes of wit that doesn't outstay its welcome . As a footnote the site I watched this on also had a link to another Nicolosi spoof trailer called STAY INDOORS which is worth checking out
