Richard Cottingham is known as the torso killer for a couple of his kills at a New York City hotel in the late 70s. Two hookers were found with their heads missing. Richie had cut them clean off and carried them out and they have never been found.
Robert Anzilotti is the Bergen County, New Jersey detective who spent years interviewing the serial killer as the two played cat and mouse. The good cop was relentless in his quest to close numerous homicides.
The tapes are the most interesting aspect of the documentary, but, as usual, we get too much repetition. The slow motion reenactments are silly and the same shrink seems to be interviewed on every crime show. She states her usual "no s*** Shirlock" opinions throughout the overlong two part series. The programs length could have been cut in half.
Cottingham may be responsible for one hundred murders but we will never know as it is all just conjecture. An author is referenced and a book by Peter Vronsky is a good one for those seeking more details on the killer.
