If they are trying to impress me, they have done their job well.
Like, so well. Really, really well.
I'm reviewing this after the show has taken off, but I've got to say that this is a great premiere! The plot is fresh and genius, they have to work together to make food for a back-to-school festival, but are so wrapped up in making new friends since it's their first year of high school that they are hiding their true selves.
For example, Leo is an amazing cook but thinks that everyone would think he was lame (and if he's watched High School Musical I can see why) so he says he'll get the ingredients they need instead of cooking. He is instead trying to pursue a career in soccer.
All of the characters are done very well and have diverse, in-depth personalities.
Unlike the old lego friends, they can be interested in more than one thing, like drawing and skateboarding (Liann), or video games and tech (Nova), or, obviously cooking and soccer (Leo).
This makes the show feel more real and doesn't get in it's own way. This show has a VERY bright future.
