The film is a second part of trilogy dedicated to the elements, started with 'Undine'. 'Afire' is about fire, whereas 'Undine' is about water. Felix's portfolio dedicated to 'water' is a nod to the previous film

The movie's original title, "Roter Himmel", is actually 'Red Sky' in English.
