Maddened by grief over his late queen, King Tobald decides to wed their only daughter Lotte, the only female resembling her. Having failed to put him off by exorbitant demands, she puts on the unique cloak made of all fur types in the realm and flees over the border, carrying only her mother's three-party golden seduction kit and the king's miniaturized gifts while posing as a poor girl. King Jacob finds her while hunting and orders her into court chef Mathis' scullery. He appreciates her zeal and culinary talents, helping him put the best dishes ever before the king, who is determined to find out about the gastronomic phenomenon, yet she makes that difficult.

Henriette Confurius in Allerleirauh (2012)

It is one of my all-time favourite movies of all time. Recommended for everyone who likes fairy tales or happy endings, and especially families. I have been rewatching this movie for about 7-8 years and I still love it, obviously my views on it now have changed from when I watched it when I was younger, but somehow the magic is still there. This is an ideal movie, if you want to watch the prince search for his princess by slowly changing and realizing the obvious. It is filled with a nice mix of comedy and heartwarming scenes of Allerleirauh recovering from her &#39;trauma&#39; or better said fear caused by her father. It is obviously in contrast to it&#39;s former animation format much chilfren friendlier and not as scaring, as well as has much better scenaries and mood.

Allerleirauh

&quot;Allerleirauh&quot; is a German movie from 2012, so this one has its 5th anniversary this year. The director is Christian Theede and the writer duo are Dieter Bongartz and Leonie Bongartz and all three of them have worked on other fairy tale production for the small screen here in Germany already, which means their contribution here is not too surprising. At under 1 hour, it is not a long movie and of course the original base material is by the Brothers Grimm. I must admit that I found it somewhat difficult to really find a connection with this one we have here. Some of it may have to do with the fact that Confurius and Kaczmarczyk are not really among my very favorite actors admittedly and their performances in here did not change it. I found especially Kaczmarczyk somewhat unlikable and it&#39;s tough to cheer for him at all. Confurius does what she has to do, but is also never memorable at all. Maybe one reason why this tale is not known as many other (I am sure very few know the title even here in Germany) may have to do with the pretty bizarre father-daughter relationship early on. And it&#39;s maybe a bit of a taboo, now even more than when the Grimms wrote it. But also the story, in which soup plays a major role, never had me on the edge of my seat at all. The cast may include some good names like Schmeide, Noethen and Karl, but this film is never a rewarding watch. I have seen quite a few superior of these television fairy tale movies from the last decade. Thumbs down from me. Don&#39;t watch.
