Hulu is providing some action-packed options next month for those looking for a switch-up on holiday cheer.

The streaming service will debut “Reprisal,” a hyper-noir story that follows a relentless femme fatale (Abigail Spencer) who, after being left for dead, sets out to take revenge against her brother and his bombastic gang of gearheads. It also launches Season 3 of “Marvel’s Runaways” on Dec. 13. If that wasn’t enough, several movies from the “Fast & Furious” franchise are hitting Hulu, plus both “Kill Bill: Volume 1” and “Kill Bill: Volume 2.”

Those dedicated to consuming holiday-only content can watch NBC’s “Holidays With the Houghs” with Julianne and Derek Hough, a song-and-dance performance show featuring special guest artist performances. Ellen DeGeneres will also be giving gifts with the help of celebrity friends on her “Ellen’s Greatest Night of Giveaways” special.

Hulu is out with its monthly list of everything coming and going. This December, new additions include Season 6 of “Younger,” two new episodes of “Into the Dark,” and Season 3 of “Marvel’s Runaways.”

According to Hulu’s description, here’s what’s going on in the the new season of “Younger”: “After Liza lands her dream job by posing as a millennial, she realizes that the truth is much better than fiction.” That’s out Dec. 3.

Season 3 of “Marvel’s Runaways,” in which the Runaways search for their captured friends, is out Dec. 13.

On Dec. 6, “Into The Dark: A Nasty Piece of Work” finds a mid-level employee at a big company faced with a challenge: in order to climb the corporate ladder, he must beat his co-worker in a violent competition.

The strings swirl, Sid Vicious descends a staircase and begins doing his best Chairman of the Board impression (even if it sounds a bit more like Dracula than Sinatra), and then everything implodes in his cover version of “My Way.” The bassist gave the song a punk-rock makeover for his star turn in The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle shortly before his death in 1979. When people finally saw it, upon the film’s release in May 1980, it became one of Vicious’ iconic moments — mostly because, as he sings, he did it his way.

Hulu has confirmed that several of its original series will be debuting new episodes on the streaming service in December, including “Marvel’s Runaways” and “Into the Dark.” And there will also be new to Hulu seasons of some of your favorites shows from other networks, including “Killing Eve.”

Likewise, there will be plenty of movies making their first Hulu appearances including the Oscar-winning “A Fish Called Wanda” and “Little Miss Sunshine.”

While Netflix has great offerings for December, Hulu’s strong showing is putting up a good fight against the streaming titan. There’s the darkly thrilling “Killing Eve,” Hulu originals such as “Marvel’s Runaways” and “Into the Dark” anthology series, plus a plethora of wholesome holiday movies like “A Dog for Christmas.” Whatever you choose on Hulu, make sure to pair it with some hot chocolate and a blanket over your lap.

Another bestselling novel by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty is headed to the small screen. EveryWhere Studios has optioned the rights to Moriarty’s Three Wishes for a series adaptation written by playwright/TV writer Lila Feinberg (Younger). I hear the drama project is set up at Netflix for development.

Woot woot! My pick to win Best Director at the Oscars took home the Feature Film trophy at the recently concluded Directors Guild of America awards. And it's truly deserving! Cuaron defied gravity, yes pun intended, to create "Gravity," a movie grounded in sci-fi realism that many directors before him (including James Cameron) were saying that it would be hard to do. But Cuaron did it, and did it extremely well! So hats off to "Gravity" and Cuaron's direction!

Updated: Gravity does not seem to be falling on the awards circuit. Alfonso Cuarón walked away with the top honor at the Directors Guild of America Awards Saturday night in Los Angeles, beating out Martin Scorsese, David O. Russell, Paul Greengrass, and Steve McQueen.
