I'm delighted to observe a positive shift in the entertainment industry's recognition of the underrepresentation of people of color (POC) in leading roles. It's refreshing to witness characters from diverse ethnic backgrounds, such as South-Asians, being portrayed as central figures. It's important to note that South-Asian representation shouldn't be limited to Indian or Pakistani identities; there's a rich tapestry of cultures within the South-Asian diaspora that deserve acknowledgment.
Moving forward, I hope the industry continues to embrace and showcase this diversity more inclusively. With all that said, the show is hilarious. My sister and I had a ton of laugh-out-loud moments. 9/10.

So, I totally spent my weekend glued to this show on YouTube. Let me tell you, it's a riot! It's all about fame and self-discovery, but with a twist that keeps you hooked. The actors totally nailed it! Sheikh Niloy, Terrence Berry, Stephanie Ellen Almeida, & Becca Weinberg were just perfect for their roles. And the supporting cast? They were pretty damn awesome too! Even though it's not a big-budget production, they really got creative with the cinematography and the soundtrack. It just goes to show that you don't need tons of cash to tell a killer story. If you're into relatable stuff and love seeing great performances, you gotta check out "Narcissists of New York City." It's indie filmmaking at its finest!

I just watched the new Avatar live-action on Netflix. I was stunned by the visuals and by the opening sequence. However, as the story progressed, the actors couldn't pull off the storytelling- not their fault, they're very young and it was apparent they were thrown into the production too soon. My point being, it doesn't always matter how much you throw into a production; how you execute the storytelling, will ultimately be the deciding factor if your content is worth watching.
I came across this show (NNYC) from one of the ads they had running on TikTok. The script is pretty witty, and packed with smart one-liners. They fell somewhat short on the technical elements (it's an indie production!). With that said, kudos to the cast! If there's one element that worked, it's hands down the casting itself. Everyone was brilliant for their roles. Tons of laugh-out-loud moments, and Gaia is just freaking adorable. Aria and Sahir are HOT, and Dante is my favorite character in the show.
A must-watch for the perfect blend of humor, and deeper message. Sweet, sharp, and served with a side of heart. 7/10!
