The Terminator series has long flirted with horror. James Cameron’s original film is shot through with an almost slasher atmosphere; Terminator 2 gave us those flame-fuelled visions of Judgement Day; some of the sequels that followed could, arguably, be called horror-shows. But in Netflix’s new anime series Terminator Zero, cinema’s most legendary cyborg saga will be taking an event bigger tilt into scary-movie territory, bringing an additional fear-factor to the (already terrifying) notion of the robot apocalypse.

With the Writers Guild strike showing no sign of slowing down, ABC has revealed more about its plans for the 2023-24 season.
The network on Friday confirmed comedies Public Defenders and Keeping it Together and dramas The Hurt Unit and Judgement would not be moving on at the network.
All four had landed pilot orders, but ABC initially delayed decisions on pickups.
Deadline reports that ABC Signature plans to shop the Ben McKenzie vehicle The Hurt Unit, while 20th Television is looking to find new homes for both Public Defenders and Judgement.
The decision is likely in response to the writers' strike, with ABC already making the controversial decision to hold off bringing back its scripted slate until 2024.
The Disney-owned network went public in May with an all-reality schedule because production on scripted shows is not expected to get underway for quite a while.

Pilots for “The Hurt Unit,” “Public Defenders,” “Judgement” and “Keeping It Together” (which was formerly titled “Drop-Off”) are no longer moving forward at ABC.
The news comes amid the ongoing writers strike taking hold of Hollywood. The Writers Guild of America decided to strike on May 2 after failing to reach an agreement on issues like wages and protections against AI.
The medical procedural drama was ordered in December and starred Ben McKenzie. Per the official logline, the show is “a cutting-edge medical drama about a highly skilled team of trauma surgeons and nurses who race into the field to treat the patients who won’t make it to the hospital in time. When the sick and the injured can’t get to the ER, the Hurt Unit (Hospital Urgent Response Team) brings the ER to them.”
Matt Lopez and John Glenn co-wrote the pilot for “The Hurt Unit,” with both serving as executive producers.

Sex/Life star Sarah Shahi is set as the lead and also will produce Judgement, ABC’s drama pilot from former Charmed showrunner Joey Falco and 20th Television.
Shahi had been in talks for the project for weeks as ABC and the producers had to work through her commitment to Sex/Life. Netflix just released the second season of the drama, inspired by Bb Easto’s book 44 Chapters About 4 Men, which is headlined by Shahi. White there has been chatter for awhile that this may be Sex/Life‘s final chapter, creator Stacy Rukeyser has shared hopes for a third season. If the show is renewed, Shahi will be able to reprise her role, subject to availability as Judgement now has her in first position, I hear.
