Witchcraft and black magic is nothing new in Vietnam show business because back in 2012 when the movie Scandal: Secret Behind the Red Carpet first came out there already a massive wave of V-pop stars and actors being affected badly by it and hoax or not I think the movie plays with the concept very well. When I rewatch the movie today in 2019 it definitely not holds up well especially with the incoherent story and stupid decisions of some characters but again this movie never meant to be the one movie that exposed the real face of Vietnam show business to the world plus the cheese factor of the movie pretty damn high so I still find it enjoyable despite the flaws.

Making good films is a hard job, but Victor Vu did it again with his movie - "Scandal". The story is simple: two actresses compete with each other for roles, allowing career and personal jealousy to influence their judgment, resulting in terrifying consequences.

But!

Such a complicated, out-of-control, deep, dark but still straight-forward and satisfying thriller flick. Everything are cooked up with an array of tension and creepy visuals. You'll be surprised the whole time.

A very good film. And it confirms one more thing: Victor Vu has style. Congratulations!
