Suriya’s Kanguva has started to pick up pace with its advance booking. Currently, the period action drama, also starring Bobby Deol as the antagonist, has hit a total of 1.58 crore with its advance booking for day 1 in India. This figure includes data without blocked seats.

Chennai, Oct 10: Tamil actor Suriya has donated Rs.6 lakh towards the purchase of dialysis machines.

"Suriya inaugurated a free dialysis centre by Tamil Nadu Kidney Research (Tanker) foundation in Sulur. He also donated Rs.6 lakh for the purchase of new dialysis machines," Suriya's agent told Ians.

The Tanker foundation, set up in 1993, helps provide affordable dialysis for economically backward people with the help of their subsidized units.

Chennai, July 23: Tamil actor Suriya Sivakumar, who turned 38 Tuesday, will spend the day with his family, said a source close to the actor.

"He is currently on a short break between films and enjoying the success of 'Singam 2', which has turned out to be a blockbuster. He will spend the day with his family as he has a busy schedule lined up from August when he will simultaneously shoot for two films," a source told Ians

Chennai, July 9: Actor Suriya Sivakumar believes the success of his latest release, Tamil action-drama "Singam 2", has managed to break the myth that sequels don't work.

He also says the movie's success doesn't belong to him entirely.

"I can't take credit for the success of "Singam 2". It was a team effort and in the process, Hari (director) and I proved that sequels can succeed," Suriya told reporters at the "Singam 2" success meet here Monday.

Chennai, July 8: The Tamil version of Suriya Sivakumar-starrer "Singam 2" has been declared a hit, while its Telugu dubbed version titled "Yamudu 2" has registered the highest opening for a movie featuring the actor in Andhra Pradesh.

"We are still not using digital cameras effectively as the number of films being made digitally in Tamil is less than 20 percent of total films produced in a year. It's time we start using digital cameras more as the future of cinema relies on it," Priyan told Ians.

Chennai, June 15: Hollywood actor Danny Sapani, who is playing the antagonist in upcoming Suriya-starrer Tamil action-drama "Singam 2", is dubbing in his voice for the movie, in London.

Chennai, June 3: Tamil director Hari Gopalakrishnan, who is awaiting the release of Suriya-starrer Tamil action-drama "Singam 2", says he is yet to have clarity on whether his film will be remade in Hindi or not.

The 2010 Tamil film "Singam" was remade in Hindi as the Ajay Devgn-starrer "Singham".

"We haven't been approached by the makers of "Singham" for the remake of 'Singam 2'. However, we hear that they already have a script for the sequel and are most likely to go ahead with it. I will have clarity on this only after they watch our film," Hari told Ians.

Chennai, May 16: The teaser of Suriya-starrer Tamil action-drama "Singam 2" will hit the web Thursday evening.

"We will release the teaser online today (Thursday) at 5 p.m. Initially, we had plans to have an official launch, but we scrapped the idea later," a source from the film's unit told Ians.

"Singam 2" is directed by Hari Gopalakrishnan, who had also helmed the superhit prequel "Singam", which also featured Suriya.

Suriya, who has been busy shooting for his upcoming Tamil action-drama "Singam 2", took the day off to attend the launch, which also saw the presence of actor Parthepan, directors Ram, Prem Sai and Vignesh along with lyricist Madhan Karky.
