Disappointingly boring.
The low budget, the lack of any characterization and the mediocre acting also hamper this film, though I can always let those sorta things go if the story is at least entertaining to see unfold - '2012: Curse of the Xtabai' isn't, at all.
The look of Xtabai, which looks a bit like Julie Benz's character in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', is alright and they make OK use of it in parts, but unfortunately those minor glimpses don't really do anything for it in the end given the aforementioned.
Neat to see a film from Belize, all the same.
