- Quotes
Benji Kaplan: We stay moving, we stay light, we stay agile.
David Kaplan: Yeah.
Benji Kaplan: The conductor's gonna come through, taking tickets, we tell him we're going to the bathroom.
David Kaplan: Bathroom.
Benji Kaplan: He gets to the back of the train, he starts heading towards the front looking for stragglers.
David Kaplan: Sorry, we're the stragglers?
Benji Kaplan: Yeah. By the time he gets to the front, the train's gonna be in the station and we're home free.
David Kaplan: This is so fucking stupid. Tickets are probably like twelve bucks.
Benji Kaplan: It's the principle of the thing. We shouldn't have to pay for train tickets in Poland. This is our country.
David Kaplan: No, it's not, it was our country. They kicked us out 'cause they thought we were cheap.

First, let's talk about the so-called "plot." Yes, there was a basic story there, but it seemed to be held together by a thread. The concept might have had promise on paper, but in execution, it's utterly directionless. Scenes drag on without adding any depth, and there's no real sense of pace or urgency. The movie can't decide what it wants to be or where it's headed, which left me feeling lost and, frankly, frustrated. Even if I tried to invest in what was happening, the weak script and nonsensical plot twists made it almost impossible. Then there's the acting, which was another major letdown. I'm not sure if it's the actors' fault entirely, or if the direction just lacked vision, but I've rarely seen such lifeless performances. The characters were cardboard cutouts, lacking any believable emotion or depth. It felt like the actors didn't even want to be there, like they were sleepwalking through their lines. Emotional moments-where you would expect at least some spark-were flat and unconvincing, as though they'd given up trying to convey any real feeling. It's as if the actors were told to be as uninspired as possible, and they delivered that instruction to a fault. I could barely bring myself to care about any of the characters because they seemed like they didn't care about themselves. The dialogue was another low point. Lines felt forced and clunky, with characters spouting clichés or nonsensical statements that only added to the confusion. It's as if the screenwriter threw together a bunch of random words and called it a day. Not only were the lines poorly written, but the actors seemed to struggle to deliver them in a way that sounded natural. Conversations that were supposed to feel impactful ended up sounding staged and awkward. It got to a point where I was actively cringing during some scenes, dreading the next line because I knew it would just drag the scene down even further. Pacing was another significant issue. The movie dragged and dragged, with scenes that felt unnecessary, only making it worse. Every time I thought it might be over soon, I checked the time and found there was still so much left. It was torturous, almost as if the filmmakers were deliberately testing the audience's patience. Instead of building up tension or creating suspense, it just felt like the movie was wasting time. It's hard to believe anyone thought the pacing was acceptable; I was bored out of my mind. The technical aspects were no saving grace either. From uninspired cinematography to lackluster music, everything about the production felt rushed or done without any real care. Visually, there was nothing memorable; in fact, it seemed like the shots were chosen with no real purpose other than to fill time. The soundtrack was just as forgettable, failing to enhance any scenes or create any emotional pull. These elements could have added at least a bit of depth, but instead, they were just as dull as the rest of the movie.
In the end, watching this film was a completely frustrating experience. I kept hoping for something-anything-to redeem it, but it just never happened. The story is shallow, the acting is wooden, the dialogue is painful, and the pacing is downright unbearable. I left the theater feeling like I'd wasted my time and money, and I can't think of a single reason to recommend this to anyone. It's rare for me to feel so completely disappointed by a movie, but this one truly takes the cake. It's one of the worst films I've ever had the misfortune to sit through. Save yourself the time, the money, and the disappointment.
